Thumbs up Guess the City

Rules (shamelessly taken from the Guess the Anime Screenshot thread):
1. Only one active picture at a time.
2. If nobody can produce an correct answer after 24 hours or after 3 guesses, a hint of some kind must be posted
3. Whoever guesses the pic gets to post the next pic, unless they pass it off.
4. If you're guessing, wait for confirmation that you're right. If you know you have the pic dead to rights, you may post your own stumper right away.
5. No name only answers, the answers should have some substance to them, tell us what makes you so sure about it, like special buildings, bridges, lakes, highways, whatever.
6. Try not to be an idiot.

First city (pretty easy):

Correct answer given by Lord Styphon:
Spoiler:
Seattle, WA

I'm completely clueless (I approve of this thread, though!). Maybe you could at least give us a continent, to narrow the field?

I like the idea for this.

It's a city with a shoreline of some sort and a river, which narrows it down a little, but there's no recognizeable structures of any sort for me. I'll go with, uh, Montreal.

EDIT - oh, Western US, nevermind. Montreal was pretty far off.

San Francisco...? =O I see a bridge in the far right, and it reminds me of San Fran when I was there in the past. But this is just a shot in the dark. The secondary body of water in the back leaves me uneasy about the answer but it's all that comes to mind.

Edit -- Wait. That's no bridge Ugh... What could this be...

Meh. Whatever.

After much careful thought, I have determined that this is Seattle, Washington.

It looks like Seattle from a weird angle. Not a view I would recognize because the Columbia Center is far off to the right and reflecting the sun rendering it almost unrecognizable.

EDIT: Damn, too slow.

I think I've seen a similar statue like this in Paris, France. So that river would be the Seine, and well, maybe the tower is part of "La Défense"? On the other hand, I think that I'm wrong because if it was correct, Face would probably have guessed it before

Warsaw maybe? The skyscraper looks a bit like the Financial Center.

I know this isn't my thread, but it hasn't even gotten past the first page yet and people are already ignoring the rules.

And no, it's not Prague.

Could it be Vilnius, Lithuania?

I think I recognize the Europa Tower, even from the unfamous side of it.

Sorry about that, I admit I didn't read the whole opening post. The stonework reminded me of a film I saw that was shot in Prague.

I don't know anything about anything, but the random statue just makes me think of Rome. So I figure I'll say Rome with every intent of getting it wrong. ;p
