GFF Risk 8 - Japan
The basic rules are in the Wiki
- All players begin with 20 gil, one Tank, and one Energy Boost - Each player gets 4 turns per day. - Each day begins at 9:00 AM CST for this game, to give more equity to westerly time zones - New rule for this game: players must only attack territories adjacent to their own. Item attacks are exempt from this. - Modification to Warlord status: there are three levels of territorial power. Japan is divided into six regions, each with eight prefectures, should anyone conquer an entire region or regions, these are the levels . . .
Weapon of the Day - awarded to surviving players each day, can be traded, but are not included in spoils of war ( * must be declared upon using) Gaijin Otaku* (8/20) - a considerable nuisance to all Nihonjin, use this item to steal an attack from another player to add an attack for yourself. Gachapon (8/21) - the fun vending toy finally hits the Risk market! Turn the crank for a chance to win either a Tank, Energy Boost, or 10 gil! Washed-up Idol (8/22) - a has been in the idol world, use this to render opponents attacks against you into random numbers. This could be a benefit to you, or it could be bad, use at your own risk. King Ghidorah (8/23) - Godzilla's most-hated arch-nemesis, use it to conquer three prefectures of your choice (any three), and submit two more that may also fall under its power. However, you have a 50/50 chance of getting those extra two prefectures. Otherwise, King Ghidorah might turn its wrath on you and render two of your prefectures (randomly chosen) neutral. Satellite Defense cannot protect against King Ghidorah. Arms Dealer - still the same, some names changed to reflect the geography in the most cliched way possible ( * must be declared upon using) (15) Tanks*: Take over one state on the map. Automatic win in battle. (15) Energy Boost*: Gain 2 extra turns for the day. (20) Yakuza: Find out the items that all other players possess, find out what items are in play (such as Ninjas), and see all numbers submitted in for attacks/defenses against you for one day. This item's use won't be announced. If the user approves, I will go ahead and submit the statistically optimal number on their behalf, to keep the game moving. (20) Chemical Weapons*: An opponent loses 3 turns for the day. (20) Satellite Defenses: Defend against all item use for one day (like other defenses, must be used preemptively). This item’s use won’t be announced. THIS ITEM CANNOT BE USED ON THE LAST DAY. (25) Gamera*: Conquer 2 adjoining territories. Automatic win in battle. (30) Mothra*: Take over at least 1 state, with the possibility of taking up to 4 adjoining states. When using this item, post the 4 states you want, in order of priority. I’ll roll a die, and determine how many you’ll actually take (1-4). (30) Ninjas: Send in 2 numbers for every attack and defense you make during one day (doubles your chances of winning each battle). This item's use won't be announced. Limited to 3 uses per game. (35) Godzilla*: Conquer 3 adjoining territories at once. Automatic win in battle. Alliance Items - These items are purchased by 2 players together, either by both PMing me or both posting in the thread. The purchase price and the spoils are split evenly. (40) Double Team: Conquer any 2 countries and take 2 turns (which you can use yourself) from an opposing player. (80) Shock and Awe: Conquer 6 adjoining territories and make each affected player lose 1 turn (if they have any remaining). Pending Battles: ( * means I need a number) GAME OVER: NUTTYTURNIP IS THE VICTOR!!! chart of who own what FINAL MAP:
Unclear connections made clear: Okinawa (47) has borders with Wakayama (30), Kochi (39), Nagasaki (42), Miyazaki (45), and Kagoshima (46). Aomori (2), Iwate (3), and Akita (5) for both sections of Hokkaido The region of Shikoku can be accessed by the mainland from Miyazaki (45) to Wakayama (30), however, the adjacency rule applies, so whatever is closer (usually one or two prefectures) is the one to attack. For example: Hiroshima can access Kagawa and Ehime, whereas Miyazaki is closest to Ehime and Kochi. Consequently that also means Yamaguchi (35) has direct access to Fukuoka (40) and Oita (44).

I'll claim Aomori before starting, then.
![]() Backloggery -=- Because no one demanded it!
|
|
I will annex 38. Ehime
Also, in the interest of clarity, would it be possible to draw a border around the various regions? Looking from the map to the key and back isn't very intuitive. ![]() From goop we came, to goop we return.

I'll annex 16

I'll annex Niigata (15).

Oh, also, please try to state the name of the prefectures you attack, rather than just the numbers.
|
|
ok i will do that in the future
So will I need to resubmit my attack numbers? (\__/)(\__/)(\__/) (\__/)(\__/)(\__/)(\__/) (\__/) (='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)( ='.'=) (")-(")(")-(")(")-(") (")-(")(")-(")(")-(")(")-(")(")-(") |

I'll call attacks on:
9 - Tochigi 11 - Saitama 12 - Chiba 13 - Tokyo Newbie to risk question, I PM you any purchases I make, right? Just wanna make sure! Will PM numbers soon. |
|
There one thing I don't get about the new rules
"Daimyo - 1 region: +/- 5 on all attacks and defense" So what dose that mean? (\__/)(\__/)(\__/) (\__/)(\__/)(\__/)(\__/) (\__/) (='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)(='.'=)( ='.'=) (")-(")(")-(")(")-(") (")-(")(")-(")(")-(")(")-(")(")-(") |

ctu: No, you don't need to resubmit numbers.
And +/- 5 on attacks and defense means that the number you submit for attack or defense gets an additional 5 point spread on either side, thus slightly increasing your chances of victory. Rollins: Arms dealer purchases have to be done via PM. |

I'd better post some attacks before I forget. Today I'll attack:
Nagano (20) Mie (24) Gifu (21) Kanagawa (14) Two things I'd like to ask/point out: 1) Gifu is colored with Yeldarb's color, yet in pending attacks, it says ctu/Ryuu. Who owns it (not that it matters, I still want to attack it)? 2) Your rules state we can only attack adjacent territories. My Tokyo is under attack right now, and we don't know the result yet. I've just launched an attack on Kanagawa from Tokyo; what happens if I lose Tokyo? |
