Ikaruga Plane-Shooter First Boss/First Level
Ikaruga is a difficult yet awesome spaceship-fighting-100's-enemies shoot-em-up. This has been made into a teaser flash game. Try it and see the high score you can get. The best I've done is killing the enemy, Butsecksguy, with 65 seconds left on the clock, getting an "A" class ranking. Can anyone do better? Is there an S, S+, or S++ in the game?
Instructions: 1. Right-click and set quality to Low, otherwise the game will run like shit 2. Pick a fighter plane frame and hit the blue start arrow in the bottom-right corner 3. Controls: Arrow keys - move the ship. The ship only takes a hit if struck in the middle z - Shoot. Hold this down the entire game x - Switch the polarity (color) of your ship. You can absorb bullets of your colour, die to bullets from the opposite colour, and do double damage to targets of the opposite colour c - Fire laser special weapon. You charge this weapon by absorbing bullets 4. Victory condition: kill the boss (energy's top bar) or survive the entire time. You can shoot his round bullet-batteries down as well, if you like, for extra points. Having extra time, and absorbing bullets, are other ways to earn points. 5. Want more? Try black and white. Controls become mouse-moves, leftmouse fires, space changes colour, v fires special lasers. Left-arrow seems to restart the game. Try to kill the same colored enemies three times in a row for extra points. (Ex: kill BBB, WWW, WWW, BBB is much more valueable than BWB WBW WBB WBW). I've yet to get over a "D" class. Edit: Just got 66 seconds left, S class, 0712920 on the boss fight.

The boss in the first chapter is named "Eboshidori" and I can't beat him in this game. Still a fucking ace find though. Mad props.

This is awesome. After learning the game mechanics and playing a few times, I managed to get an A. This has inspired me to finally seek out my own copy of Ikaruga, because this rocks.
