[Tournament] March Smashness (1v1 Tournament)

Hmmm I never fought Nexius before so I've no idea what to expect. Naz is a pretty good player though, so if he lost my chances of winning now is slim. My schedule fluculates(sp?) daily and my net connection has been spotty for two days now, but hopefully we can play soon, Nex.

Curses, Kairyu has defeated me! Alas, I had no landmasters handy to frighten him into submission. Great matches, him winning 2-1.

I suppose I'll have to conquer the losers' bracket now to ensure my victory. I've got a better idea of what characters work with online delay now.

Wait, are the matches best out of three or the first to three wins? I thought it was the latter.

Yeah, Kairyu just realized that too. FINAL BATTLE TIME.

EDIT: After a truly EPIC match, Kairyu still wins 3-1. After 8 minutes on Hyrule Temple we were both on our last lives, still hung on for awhile in sudden death, and then we both exploded on the same bo-bomb. I died about half a second too soon.

here's a quick break down of what happened:
- He won the first bout with Zelda versus my Toon Link (without using Shiek, wtf!) I thought I had the upper hand there when I managed to dodge all of your attacks for a good minute xD. Getting owned by her forward+B move hurts. [Stage: Final Destination]

- The second match ended with My Yoshi beating his Pokemon Trainer (mostly Squirtle) I'm blaming that one on my dumb luck with items =D [Stage: Yoshi's Island (melee)]

- The third one was kind of one-sided. I was Link and Tritoch was Ness. He managed to KO me twice with his combination of Up+A and PK thunders but my launching ability made it tough for him to recover back onto solid ground. So with that, I won the third match. [Stage: Smashville]

- One word: EPIC
Tritoch used Zelda one last time while went back to Yoshi. We actually ended up using our 8 minutes and stalemating with one stock one each. So we had ourselves a sudden death! I think I only came out on top because the bob-bomb that literally appeared out of no where hit Tri first, which sent him flying just a little further than me XD. Holy crap, nice finish though.
So I won 3 - 1 against Tritoch =D [Stage: Temple (melee)]

Yeeeah, our matches were more or less the reason why items are banned in most SSB tourneys. Good matches though.

No really, every smash ball was a one-hit break for him as Luigi, so fucking lame.

I actually only had one single-hit break, but even that had me blinking while I frantically mashed my B button for ZA WARUDO TIME.

I gotta say, though... this tournament is really making me rethink my stance on tourneyfags banning all sorts of shit. I cheaped out Lukage on Green Hill Zone by throwing him off by the edge of the screen at like 30-40%, we both abused Final Smashes like utter MOFOS, and Superspicy Curry + Hammer + Me getting pushed off the edge trying to dodge both and being juggled by the curry = RAGE.

Come now, Lukage. Channel that rage towards your upcoming battle against me!

Griff, Lukage, what was the total score? 3-1?

I'm keeping record of all the stats for this tournament.

32% throw, but yeah, my Kirby won in part due to Up-B'ing the smash ball for multiple hits.

Update:

Well that was a total embarrassment. Nex won by a landslide. I fell off the stage accidently(sp?) several times and I apparently just SUCK 1 on 1. Back to group battles for me >_>

Hopefully Turbo/Krel and Acer/Ihopz could get their matches going soon. I'm aware of Acer's crappy university connection, but I haven't heard a thing from Turbo or Krel. o_o

I beat nutty 3-0. Good matches, but definitely a blowout of sorts
