recommended software for converting DivX to DVD?
Really looking for something simple, reliable, and free. If there aren't any good ones for free, or they don't compare to the ones you need to purchase, then forget the free part.

Just use NeroVision Express (part of Nero Digital suite). Incredibly quick and easy solution that allows you to burn to DVD on the fly.

I have a version of Nero Express 6 which came with my DVD writer, but the only options for writing seem to be either VCD or SVCD conversion. Do I need a later version of the program, or a more complete suite package maybe?

I guess you need a plugin of sorts. There are numerous plugin packs for Nero floating around in P2P. Either that, or just install a pirated Nero complete bundle.
