programs that use access

So, when you have a forum (snitz2000, vbuliitin, php) that uses an access database, do you have to have access from MS office installed?

Uhh, they don't use Microsoft Access. They use an SQL database such as MySQL which is open source, or MSSQL which is not and made my Microsoft.

Well, if they're large, but usually small asp forums use access (at least snitz does). But, do you have to have access installed for these things to run? or do asp pages view the file just the same with or without?

Snitz Forums 2000 feature list:
Quote:
Support for Microsoft Access 97/2000/2002, SQL Server 6.5/7.0/2000 and MySql
I never even heard of Snitz before but seriously, do yourself a favor and use MySQL instead. Besides, I reckon that Access database has to be installed on the server you're running the forum from.

Well, I used snitz as an example because my brother created a marketing program for my father to use in his business and it uses and access db.
