Website Blocks

Does anyone know how to block certain websites? My younger sister has been going to such and such site which attracts bads stuff into our computer. I am just getting tired of it and she won't listen. So is there anything out there that would let me block certain sites?

Do you by any chance have a router or a firewall, either hardware or software? The easiest method would be to log into either the router or firewall and simply ban the domain you want to block. There would be nothing your sister could do except figure out how to log in herself or if you're on a wireless network connect to a network that isn't your own.

If you're running Windows XP, you can block any site you want easily. First, find your HOSTS file in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc". Underneath all the text, enter lines that look like this:

Code:
127.0.0.1 t.abnad.net
127.0.0.1 www.stupid.net
127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 gtcc1.acecounter.com
127.0.0.1 gtp1.acecounter.com
It will block those sites from any program running in Windows XP, including IE and FireFox.
