Any user-friendly video editing/making programs out there?

I'm trying to put a bunch of random fight clips together to this song using Camtasia Studio, but it's a bitch, maybe because I don't know how to use it all properly, I don't know, especially when I can't disable the audio track to the clips, so I have to reprocess them and save them as clips with disabled audio, and then I can't really move and line up the clips so that let's say someone gets punched and it's supposed to line up to the audio track where there's a big explosion, it's hard to do that.

Anyway, does anyone have a video editing program that is easy to use for purposes such as this? I'd like it to at least have features to enable/disable audio on movie clips that I put in the project, drag and drop frames to the exact position I want it to be in (to match certain parts of a song I might use for the theme), and handle many different types of media as well as outputting the media into popular formats or at least something I can put into VirtualDub to compress.
