OSX X-Chat Aqua (looking for old version?)

Does anyone here use X-Chat Aqua? And if so, do you use a version older than the current build?

I recently formatted my laptop and am saddened to find that the newest build of X-Chat Aqua has reformatted the display from including the angled brackets around the user names in chat, which makes everything people say look like an action.

What I see is this:

[22:17] junkiroth Oh fuckin' sweet, the garage band across the alley is doing black sabbath.
[22:17] the_melomane lol
[22:18] gurumonster hmm

but what I want to see is this:

[22:17] <junkiroth> Oh fuckin' sweet, the garage band across the alley is doing black sabbath.
[22:17] <the_melomane> lol
[22:18] <gurumonster> hmm

And I am sad to see that there's no way I can configure this through the menus (unless I'm missing something). A little internet searching shows that I need to download an older version of X-Chat, but I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone know how I can get the brackets back?

You don't need the old version. Just go to the menubar and choose X-Chat Aqua->Preference Lists->Event Texts... and look for Channel Message. You can change the formatting there to whatever you like.

Yeah, but for some reason, X-Chat doesn't even display the < > brackets in the chat window. However, when I highlight and copy it, and paste it later, the brackets show up. It's weird.

Edit: Figured it out. It had something to do with the color formatting that was also in the string that I didn't want to delete. But I'd rather have the text formatting over the color formatting.
