How do you change the compilation name when burning an ISO?

Say I have this iso file called PhotoshopTopsecret.iso on my harddrive, and after burning it to a disc (with NERO), the DVD drive on my computer shows the disc label as PSTS3. I wanna change the PSTS3 to something else wihtout having to edit the iso file. Can it be done?

No, the label information is embedded in the ISO (where else should it be??). So if want to edit it, then create a backup copy of the ISO, modify it and then burn it.

I know, but if I modify it, and then save it, it (UltraISO) rewrites the whole ISO (thus requiring double the space of discspace)

Is there a why to edit the label without rewriting the whole ISO? Kinda like Hex editing?

MagicISO should have this feature. And ISO Master also can change labels. Hex editing should also work if you know the offset to the label and the allocated string space.

PowerISO can do it too I believe. I think hex editing would be kind of risky as you run the risk of corrupting the ISO if you make the slightest mistake. Just stick with the programs.

If someone wants to solve this problem by hex editing the best thing is to get information about the PVD (primary volume descriptor) here:

Of course one still would have to change the Joliet data.

crap, i dont know anything about those, never heard of that allocated disc thingy and I dont know what joliet is.
I guess, Ill just have to extract the whole damn Iso and make a new compilation

Maybe you should instead read something about ISO9660, Joliet and UDF and try to understand it.

I thinks it's hard to understand what a tool like MagicISO, Iso Master, etc. does if you have no clue of the concepts.
