Can you guys recommend a good program to use to make my own adventure game? I'm looking for a point and click type of program because I don't know any programming whatsoever...

If by "adventure game", you mean RPG, you should check out RPG Maker.

I have positive experience with this program. Didn't use it for too long because I didn't have too much time, though.

It is fairly easy to use after becoming familiar with the basic tools. An 'escape the room' type game should be possible without any programming, though programming can help you with more complex aspects of games, such as scripted cutscenes.
