GFF is a hellhole full of elitists who chat about everything EXCEPT games. We have a team of dedicated moderators who will ban your ass on the slightest provocation, constant member-organized activities that you are not allowed to participate in, and plenty of custom features, including our unique journal system where you can post entries that will be completely ignored. If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ or our GFWiki. You will have to register before you can post. Although membership is completely free (and gets rid of the pesky advertisement unit underneath this message) we do not recommend that you sign up, because you will get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

Need to find a free virus scanner
I don't really have the money to spend on a good virus scanner.. Figures eh, I spend about a total of 2k for my computer and don't buy a virus scanner....
Anyways just looking for something that does the trick, I don't need anything that has firewall programs with it. Between my router and vistas firewall crap My PC is locked tighter than my gf's pants after I've spent the last 24 hours at a LAN party with out her. |

The virus scanner I use is Avira AntiVir. It updates virus definitions every day, is free and seems to have done the trick so far.

I use AVG Anti-Virus at the moment. I am a bit confused though if they are getting away from their free version so that may change soon. However, at this point in time, I have used that without much of a problem.

Avast is great, it updates itself on average 3 times a day; its good at catching items others don't; and my favorite, it uses very little resources.

I use AVG Anti-virus, but I've got several false-positives from the scanner during the last 6 months--reporting files as viruses when they're not. It made me paranoid when it gave the false-positive. I hear Avast is better, and I've been thinking about switching to that. And you can check out dslreports.com, and check the security forums, it will list all the free antivirus/anti-spyware crap you can get.

Thats odd. Try a reinstall, I have all updates installed and the database is up to date and I am using about 16-19mb of RAM. (5 background services all at 0 CPU usage ver.4.8.1169) Have there been complaints from other WOW users??
