Best DVD Authoring Software

For a while I have been using Adobe Encore DVD (2.0). At first, I thought it was pretty nifty, and did some cool stuff. But now that my needs and demands (in this area) are greater, Encore fails to provide. Seeing as it's an Adobe product, I am quite suprised. Adobe products tend to be some of the best, but not in this case.

I did a bit of searching, and tried some other titles such as Sonic DVDit PRo, DVD-Lab Pro, uLead DVD Workshop 2, etc. They all sucked.
I'm looking for a program that will give the user complete and ultimate power over the finished project; that includes motion menus, multiple video/audio/subtitle tracks, advanced compression options, etc. I would like to find out what software major film production companies are using.

Let the discussing/debating begin.

*BUMP*

I tried Scenarist, and you were right, the learning curve is quite steep. I could take the time to master it, but I was wondering if anybody else knows of any alternatives? Thanks.
