Best P2P Program
What do you think is the best P2P program? Personally, I like Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com) because it connects to the Gnutella 1, Gnutella2 and eDonkey networks, and has a bunch of cool features such as remote access.
What about you? Please don't say "Bittorent". Mario Kart DS: 498293-921939____ Star Fox Command: 155-576-696-451____ Metroid Prime Hunters: 4854-1233-4943____ Final Fantasy III: 506891214495____ Xfire: freuser____ Steam: Free.User____ |

bittorrent.
ok now, seriously, i use kazaa lite resurrection if anything... and that's because i didn't bother to uninstall it for so long. i haven't actually used any of the other programs since a year and a half ago. i remember bearshare being pretty horrible though. |
|
I like BCDC++ for DC++ things. I will occasionally use DC++, because the good hubs aren't littered with complete crap. Of course, that being said, most good hubs have insane share requirements, defeating most good that could come out of them for me. (That is, I don't have 80GB of stuff readily available to share.)
I don't really like Kazaa/Limewire, and Shareaza is unbelievably slow for me :\ |

As far as BitTorrent is concerned (which is essentially the most versatile and solid P2P network), µTorrent is the way to go.

Probably the best program I have come across is mIRC. It's not a normal p2p program, and its fairly hard to use, but once you know how to use it, you can get anything you want, just about. So if your up for it, here

I mainly searh for torrents (uTorrent) primarily, then if I can't find what I'm after, then I'll look around on Gnutella/eDonkey with shareazaa. If I still can't find it I'll look around IRC.
Also don't forget http - RapidShared and Megauploaded have gotten me quite alot of neat stuff. Finally if I still don't have what I'm after, then I'll either give up, or try GFF Requests forum / FTPs as a last resort. |

If I can't find it using BitTorrent, I'll use DC++. But since it's not always reliable, I'll head to soulseek. Not the best, but decent as a last resort and generally has what I want.

Bittorrent all the way. I've been using Emule lately and I'm very satisfied, you can get good stuff there, so it's my second choice.
I used to hang out at GFF Hub but it was kind of boring. Ares is my third option when it comes to individual songs, you know the classic escenario: "Dude, do you remember that song from the 90's... *goes download*" |
|
Makes using IRC all the more hassle free though. In my opinion I'd go: 1) Bit torrent. 2) DC++. 3) Limewire. 4) Emule. 5) IRC. |
And for those of you who use mIRC or IRC, what servers/channels whatever do you go to to get files? Mario Kart DS: 498293-921939____ Star Fox Command: 155-576-696-451____ Metroid Prime Hunters: 4854-1233-4943____ Final Fantasy III: 506891214495____ Xfire: freuser____ Steam: Free.User____ |

I use torrents for any TV shows I need.
I pretty much exclusively use IRC for music, since it is easier to get older stuff there. Plus, it is still the safest way to download music, not that it seems like the RIAA is going after anyone anymore. It takes just a little bit more work. I pretty much just use #mp3passion and #mp3_collective on Undernet. |

I use uTorrent for all my P2P needs. No massive RAM usage BS and the fact that I can easily download a little and then continue later is a major plus. If they made BT anonymous, I'd be using it all the time...
When Smokers try to lasso him, he grabs their tongues and pulls them to HIM instead.
When Hunters jump on him he flips them over, pins them to the ground, and rips out their teeth one at a time. When Boomers vomit on him he wipes himself off, shoots peptobismol into their mouths, and performs liposuction on them before splattering their brains on the wall. When a Tank throws a chunk of concrete at him he rolls up his sleeves and puts on boxing gloves. When a Witch gives him lip he pulls his hand back and slaps that bitch right in the mouth. No zombie is safe from Chicago Ted. |

For BT I use azearus (sp?). It's a RAM hog, but I can live with that.

Azureus, despite memory useage, remains the most full-featured client. |
