Ripping MP3s from flashplayers
Thread making stats!:
-Ran search, found nothing of the like. -Made thread So, does anyone rip mp3s from flash-type players like the ones on music.myspace.com? (Yeah yeah, myspace is bad, myspace is a deathtrap lying in wait under a sandy walkable spot.) There's just a few pieces of music that I'd love to get my hands on, but there aren't torrents of them available. No direct downloads. my WM Recorder program can't detect any type of url connection/route to grab music. (And I paid 21 bucks for that too.) These damn flash player type things are evil!

Unfortunately, since I've never really messed with such settings before, I still don't have any clue as to what you mean.
These are things I'm tinkering with to try and figure out what to do: ![]() My computer is a laptop and is running a customized desktop setup by Dell. Edit: The Audio Properties window is from the Sound Recorder. The Sound Mixer is something setup by Dell. And then there's the main audio controls from the accessories menu. |

Yeah, Stereo Mix is a sound chipset/driver dependent thing. There are Audio Hijack Pro-type apps for Windows... but I'll be damned if I know what they're called.
killmoms - Well, don't really.

I haven't personally tried it, but this came up on Google: http://www.soundrecorder.net/
It says it can capture audio from flash files, among other things, so in theory it should be able to do what you have in mind. |

Audacity, Http://audacity.sourceforge.net , I think can do it also. I've done it once and it worked rather well.

You might want to check your drivers to see if they're up to date. I think I got one or two extra when I installed the non-reference drivers for my sound device.
Also, if you have an Audigy card (as the one screenshot leads me to believe), how could you NOT have enough features to do this? Try seeing if you can change the Default Device to use. Also, be sure all the checkboxes are selected in the Options -> Properties menu in your sound panel. I think by default you'll only have Microphone and Line In selected, but you should be able to turn on more. (I also recall my old Soundblaster 512 having a thing called "What U Hear" which is the same thing as Stereo Mix except titled differently.) |

Hmm, I'm not really sure what to do to set it up so Sound Recorder will work if Stereo Mix doesn't show up.
I have a Dell laptop that's a few years old (Inspiron 5100) and looking at the recording button right now, I have the choice of Stereo Mix, CD Audio, and Microphone with the Mixer Device as the same Sigma Tel Audio guy that you do. |
