Data Recovery Software?

What's a really good data recovery software? One that has a higher chance of recovering data where other ones won't. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

For the few times I have lost data that I couldn't get to by normal means, Stellar Phoenix software has saved me. I've recovered hundreds of gigabytes worth of stuff over the past few years, so I'd recommend. Honestly, though, I haven't tried other solutions since this worked for me so well. Now, to do it freely...

WinHex has forensic features which can be used to recover deleted data from a hard drive (I use it all the time for HDD manipulation and data recovery). It does need to be cracked to use said features though.
When Smokers try to lasso him, he grabs their tongues and pulls them to HIM instead.

When Hunters jump on him he flips them over, pins them to the ground, and rips out their teeth one at a time.

When Boomers vomit on him he wipes himself off, shoots peptobismol into their mouths, and performs liposuction on them before splattering their brains on the wall.

When a Tank throws a chunk of concrete at him he rolls up his sleeves and puts on boxing gloves.

When a Witch gives him lip he pulls his hand back and slaps that bitch right in the mouth.

BTW WinHex does some really advanced stuff. Until you're familiar with it (and unless you follow forensic protocol), I do not suggest you try anything too deep. You could irreversably lose data (to the point that WinHex could not recover it), whether it's been deleted or not. Turn write portection on when you're not editing a file or the hard drive data.

Yeah, I just tried WinHex and I have no idea wth is goin on. I'm afraid to do anything and end up losing data. Does anybody have a cracked version of Stellar Phoenix? I have WinHex 12.8 SR-6 if anybody wants it.

Like I said, WinHex is for more advaced users. If you want to know how to use it, just ask me, and I'll teach you some of the features.

OK, so how would I just do a simple scan of my drive for any recoverable data? Thanks for helping.

Let's see (BTW is your version cracked? Enter the green text to get the full version:
(Edited by BlueMikey: Don't just post cracks here in the forums. Google will suffice for anyone needing to crack a program.)

1. Push F9
2. Select the Hard Drive Parition you want to scan.
3. Then go to the "Tools"->"Disk Tools" menu
4. Select file recovery by name
5. Enter in filenames you want to use (this only works well for recently deleted files), push enter after one name and enter another.
6. make sure the output folder is on a different Hard drive partition than the one you're recovering files to (if you only have one partition, hope for the best)

Yeah, my version is cracked but thanks for supplying the registration info anyway. I tried what you said but was unable to recover the file. What should I do about files that have been deleted a while back?

Go into the directory brower when you open the hard drive, it should read "Path Unknown" at the top directory and you can browse through deleted files there (look for your file by seeing the modification dates and file size and type). Chances are Windows renamed the file to something else so try as many files that resemble the type and size of the file you deleted.

OK, got it! Thanks for helping me out, www.sega.co.jp! I'm still interested in stellar phoenix if anyone has it, though.
