Do you like your middle name?

Random thought from a very bored person here. I find it interesting when people get embarassed about their middle name, it's not like people call them by it but still they get all uptight about revealing it. So I thought i'd make a funky poll for you all...yayness.

So post your middle name if you dareeee.

My parents always called me by my middle name, so that's all I've ever gone by. It's Elka, and I don't mind it.

My first name is Judith, which is kind of not my favorite name. If anyone called me Judith, though, I wouldn't get all bent out of shape over it.

My middle names are William George, which were my grandfathers first and middle names. He died before I was born, but I always heard stories about how much ass he kicked, and I figure if he ruled enough for my parents to name me after him, then he ruled enough for me to be cool with having his names.

My middle name is okay, and far easier for people to understand when ordering a pizza than my first name.

Fire On Ice Apr 13, 2006 01:14 PM

it's not that I'm embarassed about my middle name per se, I just don't like it all that much. It's Findlay, my grandmother's maiden name and it's spelled funny. I know there are some worse middle names out there but I can't help but dislike this one. I think it's a little like class pictures, almost nobody likes their own but they can seem really nice to someone else, at least in my experience.

Somehow a a decent chunk of the people I know that are my age ended with Michael as a first or middle name. I don't really mind it as there's nothing inherently wrong with it and people don't refer to me by it anyway but it just seems so generic.

John is pretty normal for a middle name, or a first name for that matter.

I am AJW the 3rd. My kid would possibly be the 4th if I name him something starting with A and J.

My middle name is Robinson which is kinda weird cause most of the time it's a last name. It's cool though cause it's a family name that has been passed down for quite some time. It goes back to a guy named Christopher Robinson (Chris is also my first name) 1645-1692 a famous Virginian, who was a member of the House of Burgessess, governor's council, and eventually the secretary of state of the colonies. He built this awesome plantation house called Hewick which is now a historic site. His name is actually printed on one of the pews in Bruton Parish Church in Coloniel Williamsburg.

However most of the time when people find out that my middle name is Robinson they try to make some sort of Winnie the Pooh reference, but then of course they're wrong cause the fictional character is Christopher Robin, and not Robinson.

God damn, Williamsburgland.
I know man, they got some fat-ass pussy and some big-ass titties in Williamsburgland.
I heard it was motherfuckin' Williamsburg dawg, where the titties so low.
God DAMN we are right outta mammal sauce.

Meh, mine is okay. I'm not ashamed of it, but I also don't go around announcing my middle name to people.

ArrowHead Apr 13, 2006 01:32 PM

My middle name is William, which was my grandfather's name. I don't it too much, though now I have a cousin with William as his first name too. Feels overused I guess.

Not every boy in my country named "Michel". Most of time people thought my name "Michelle." But well, I love my middle name a lot. But I never address myself with it.

Shenlon Apr 13, 2006 02:13 PM

I have my grandfathers middle name and I don't like it. I hate it. I despise it.
I don't tell anyone and only people that have known me for a while know about it. Other than that only my birth certificate shows my middle name, anywhere else it doesn't exist.

Musharraf Apr 13, 2006 02:16 PM

Hey pals, some people don't have any middle names. Tough shit, heh?

I've never really had any feelings towards my middle name. It's Kanval. The V is silent. I answer no to the poll because when I was young some guy called Mark read my full name off of the register and went on a "Haha Bisha's middle name is Kanval! That sounds like Camel! HAHA." and that just didn't go well.

splur Apr 13, 2006 02:23 PM

French version of Michael... Michel pronounced "Michelle". Not a big fan of it, I usually leave it as "M" and let people's imagination go wild.

Greykin Apr 13, 2006 02:26 PM

My middle name is basically a lot of people's last names in Vietnamese. I don't really mind it, never really thought about it =/.

It's from a ridiculous song called Mammal Sauce by Crotchduster.

projectg Apr 13, 2006 02:27 PM

I don't have a middle name. ^-^

TheHobbyMan151 Apr 13, 2006 02:29 PM

I don't have a middle name yay

xSummonerYUnax Apr 13, 2006 02:33 PM

Mine is Noa. I never really got used to it because my parents haven't called me that in about 10 years.

Eleo Apr 13, 2006 02:35 PM

My middle name is the name I go by. Richard David Elliott DeVahl Mason (I hate and love to type all of that out), and I've gone by Elliott most of the time. On official documents I'm shown as Richard, but even then sometimes I go by R. Elliott.

Most of my siblings don't go by their first names. I'm not sure why our parents gave us first names by which they never intended for us to be called. Strangely most of my siblings have four names total where I'm the only one who has an odd number, thus making it easy to pinpoint my middle name. I don't know what one does when he or shee has four names.

Jan Apr 13, 2006 02:42 PM

zOMG! I will nevar post it here nevar!!

I dunno I just don't like mine all that much. Guess I've met too many fags who have it as a first name.

Fjordor Apr 13, 2006 02:44 PM

My middle name was given in honor of my older brother who died within 24 hours after birth. :-\
It's a good name, although kind of commonplace.
