Asking out to Prom?
Yes my final year of high school is coming to an end. Prom is coming up! For some time I've been thinking about the perfect way to ask a girl. This is my last dance, and I wanna somehow make this a memorable one. Any ideas how to be slick/creative on asking her out?

Have some other dude ask her first. Works every time!
|
|
If you ask me, the memorable moments will come at the actual event, not in the asking out.
So along that line, I say you keep it simple, just ask her politely, maybe you can sweeten the deal with some flowers? Or you can almost go with the classic "Will you go to the prom with me? Yes/No/Maybe" note. If the date goes for that kind of cute thing. |
|
I always thought the asking-in-a-cute way thing was kinda' gay. I mean, it's not that big of a deal in the first place. High school is fucking retarded.

Rule #321321: Do not be so presumptious to say such things. Women like confidence, but they don't like arrogance in such a blatant form. Why not just ask her "Has anyone asked you to go to the prom yet?" It makes a good segue into the conversation and you can safely take a course of action without making things obvious. I mean, its better to ask if she has a date before you actually ask her and rejected, right? |
|
Depends on the girl. I'd be much more likely to laugh at a guy who had the balls to say something like that (and then say yes) than I would be to agree to go to the prom with a guy who was visibly nervous about asking me.
But I think we've already established that you and I like different types of guys. Must suck being a guy, is all I have to say. |
Either way, why wouldn't he make it obvious? I dunno if going to prom with a girl would work out too well if she won't even be aware of it. Unless the guy is into the whole ''imaginary date'' scene.

Its not SMACKING AND OBVIOUS like "Hey, what time do you want me to pick you up?" And at least you can BACK PEDAL if need be. Are you kidding. |

Judging from how he posted and worded his inquiry, I imagine he's not the kind of dude who is direct, upfront, and holds himself in a great light. If he's making a thread on the internet inquiring as to "how to ask a chick out to prom," he's not the direct kind of guy. I think its better to be direct. But I am only trying to help a guy out, man. |

//This code would please both Sass and Alice. Use it at your own risk!
you.say("Do you want to come with me to the prom?"); Answer ans=you.wait(); if(ans.interpretAsBoolean()==Answer.Yes) { you.say("Hey, what time do you want me to take you to the prom?"); } else { you.sigh("*that gal just doesn't know how to appreciate ART*"); you.say(Phrases.insert()); } |
To AliceNWondrland: Where, exactly, do you draw the line which separates a self-confident guy of a vain monkey wannabe? And, back to the point: doyeon Good luck with your date!
