Eee, this is what I get for missing one day...fortunately I caught all those nominations and sealed them on my hd. Thanks for providing links

Major change to the first post, so those who haven't provided links please send the songs on over...or I'll just PM you soon if you feel passionate about your song nominations.

I will restate: keep them coming!

I'll throw in four here.

Taku Iwasaki - Gentlemanlike, All Too Gentlemanly (aka Shinshiteki Na, Amari Ni Shinshiteki), from the Read Or Die OVA Soundtrack.

E.S. Posthumus - Cuzco

Tsuneo Imahori - Not An Angel, from Trigun

Orbital - Halcyon & On & On

All of which I find relaxing. I've put them in a RAR archive here on YSI.

My fifth allowable nomination:
Puffy - Always Dreaming About You

Give that one a listen guys! Finally something that is a bit more of the "folksy" side of quiet songs instead of the slow touching songs that I couldn't seem to break away from. Rather clear English and simple overall.

Sorry if these were already on last years.

Dear Friends - Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy V Piano Collections) <- make sure piano.

Talk - Coldplay
The National Anthem - Radiohead
Porcelain - Moby

I wasn't actually sure how quiet you wanted. Dear Friends is really really quiet. But the other 3 are mellow and peaceful, kind of quiet but not really. I guess if you had to, only pick one or the soundtrack might be a big too "loud". :P

Okay screw my last post, I've 7z'ed a bunch of mp3s.

http://rapidshare.de/files/18651404/tqpstuff.7z.html

· cEvin Key - Shortwave Connector (nice little song from one of the Skinny Puppy guys' solo project)
· Aphex Twin - Btoum roumada (weird relaxing reverby bell type thing. Too short imo)
· Boards of Canada - Sherbert Head (nice little "frothy" song. It's the calmest BoC song I could find)
· Carpark North - Rest (weird slow paced song)
· Aphex Twin - Alberto Balsalm (nice little calm tune from Aphex Twin)
· Fear Factory - Ascension (as I said before in my last post)
· Rammstein - Wilder Wein (demo from the industrial group, nice and calm but the Live Aus Berlin version which I don't have is better because of the Acoustic guitars bit at the end)
· Skinny Puppy - The Centre Bullet (about 10ish minutes of sweeping swaying ambiency-ness which is unusual for the industrial scare-mongers)
· Bjork - You've Been Flirting Again (flirt is a promise mix) (this remix is a lot calmer and nicer than the original)
· Boards of Canada - Zoetrope (like I said earlier >_>)
· Sigur Ros - Avalon (also like I said earlier)
· Mad Capsule Markets - Kumo (there's something I find uber relaxing about this song)

EDIT

oh god you only said like 3-5.

Oops. ._>

Listen to Shinai Naru Tomo E. It's an awesome and, IMHO, superior version of Dear Friends. The flute and piano duet are truly superb.'

As for nominating more than 3-5 hehe, no worries, I hope these are really good! Since you took the time to compile them all, it doesn't hurt anyways.

Okee dokee! We've had approximately 28 days (as of the time of this post) to mull over our soothing, relaxing songs. Thank you for all who nominated. I will compile the album very soon. Look for a voting period SOON for some songs I can't decide upon. If you don't vote soon, then I'll arbitrarily be choosing everything, which you all probably would dislike.

Edit: SOON

Edit 2: Sorry, I've decided already...so I will refrain from holding a vote

Edit 3: k, song listing will be up tomorrow, and the songs themselves will come up sometime AFTER the song listing (long uploading time for me)

Seems outdated. Unsticking.
