The Gamingforce Soundtrack - ver. 3 - Quiet Place edition

All righty then, it looks like it's that time of year again!
Help out by choosing those quiet, serene, mellow, peaceful tracks from all genres to fill out this relaxing album.

CHANGE: Please provide a link to the song; preferably by yousendit.com since Megaupload has too much slutty popups + lower retrieve speed. However, you can still nominate a song if you believe it is cream of the crop, but it'll be hard to put on a soundtrack if it's not given :s Worst case scenario...download ITunes and rip the song from the cd if you have it.
- All are welcome to nominate, especially since diversity is a key ingredient.
- Three to five suggestions per person would be great.
- Try not to reuse too much tracks from the old albums.
- Providing lyics is not required, but if you think they're really meaningful then go right on ahead!

That said, the floor is open for suggestions...

To kick it off, this is the kind of peacefulness I'm talking about:

1) Shinai Naru Tomo E by Yoko Shimomura from FF Potion
2) Friend by Tenpei Sato and Rei Tashi from Phantom Brave
3) Marche (Love for Humanity Version) by Akira Sasaki from FFTA White Melodies

I won't link to this song since I don't have it uploaded in any server, but it's pretty easy to find. If you want this album to be real cool, then add:
Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World from Chrono Cross.

harry gregson williams - evacuating london

I just like this song. it's actually from the Chronicles of Narnia soundtrack, but I think it works for the theme. it's calm and soothing. yada yada.

mono - slimecea girl

the "I have issues and/or angst" song. off the album "Formica Blues".

muse - unintended

the "I have deep feelings of love" song. off the album "Showbiz".
I've got knives in my eyes. I'm going home sick.

Oh man... One song that I'd love to see on here just to see something different is Nujabes - Eclipse. It's hip-hop, but don't let that turn anyone off to it. It's actually one of the most intense love songs ever written in the genre.

"Your lips on mine, the eclipse over lunar. I'll see you soon but I'll talk to you sooner."

ava! Mono = <3

But Silicone is a better song.

Driving Miss Daisy Original Soundtrack - Hans Zimmer - "End Titles"

Listen and tell me this isn't serene and uplifting enough for inclusion.

It's unworthy until someone stickies the thread lol j/k It seems to pick up the pace a bit in the middle, but it's not like all of the tracks should be totally slow and dead throughout their durations.

All of this is some good stuff here. It'll be hard to choose from everything
I'm glad that Eclipse was thrown in. It's definitely a different take, although most people would probably be confused initially at it's placing.

Dir en grey - Embryo
A slow rock song, a bit erie, very emotional. I'd suggest the single edit since the faint of heart with good Japanese skills might find the album version quite disturbing.

Akira Yamaoka feat. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn - Letter (From The Lost Days)
One of those great songs from the newer Silent Hill games. Beautiful.

Nine Inch Nails - Leaving Hope
Instrumental piano/synth piece. Quiet yet moving.

Garbage - Milk
Another slow piece frome Garbage's self-titled debut. Shirley Manson's voice gives the song an almost spheric quality.

I'll check out yousendit.com later and see if I can get those uploaded.

Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt

Lyrics:
Spoiler:
mething in me, dark and sticky
All the time it’s getting strong
No way of dealing with this feeling
Can’t go on like this too long

{chorus:}
This time you’ve gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]
This time you’ve gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]

Don’t talk back
Just drive the car
Shut your mouth
I know what you are
Don’t say nothing
Keep your hands on the wheel
Don’t turn around
This is for real
Digging in the dirt
Stay with me, I need support
I’m digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
Open up the places I got hurt

The more I look, the more I find
As I close on in, I get so blind
I feel it in my head, I feel it in my toes
I feel it in my sex, that’s the place it goes

[chorus]

I’m digging in the dirt
Stay with me I need support
I’m digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
To open up the places I got hurt

Digging in the dirt
To find the places we got hurt

Annie Lennox - Pavement Cracks
Lyrics:
Spoiler:
The city streets are wet again with rain
But I'm walkin' just the same
Skies turn to the usual grey
When you turn to face the day
And love don't show up in the pavement cracks
All my water colours fade to black
I'm goin' nowhere and I'm ten steps back
All my dreams have fallen flat

(Love don't show in the pavement cracks
There will be no turning back)

Time and space will pass us by and by
When we don't see eye to eye
I would have done anything
For happiness to bring ...
But it don't show up in the pavement cracks
I can't even cover up my tracks
I'm goin' nowhere and I'm light years back
Ooh I wish you well

How come
Every day
I'm still waiting for the change?
How come
I still say
Give me strength to live?

Where is my comfort zone?
A simple place to call my own
'Cause everything I wanna be
Comes crashing down on me
And it don't show up in the pavement cracks
I can't even recognise my tracks
You and I can't turn the whole thing back
Ooh I wish you well

Depeche Mode - Fly on the Windscreen

Spoiler:
Death is everywhere
There are flies on the windscreen
For a start
Reminding us
We could be torn apart
Tonight

Death is everywhere
There are lambs for the slaughter
Waiting to die
And I can sense
The hours slipping by
Tonight

Come here
Kiss me
Now
Come here
Kiss me
Now

Death is everywhere
The more I look
The more I see
The more I feel
A sense of urgency
Tonight

Come here
Touch me
Kiss me
Touch me
Now
Touch me
Touch me

There are flies on the windscreen
There are lambs for the slaughter
There are flies on the windscreen

If you need these PM me and I can send them.

Mountain of the Night - Abdullah Ibrahim
http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9120545599.mp3

When It Rains - Brad Mehldau
http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9120593321.mp3

Two of the best peaceful jazz tunes out there with a groove.

Zero7 stuff is also fantastic peaceful music. One of their best songs with one of my favorite beats in any song, ever:

Spinning - Zero7
http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9121092634.mp3

Spoiler:
Was it loneliness that brought you here
Broken and weak
Was it tiredness that made you sleep
Have you lost your will to speak
Was the earth spinning round
Were you falling through the ground
As the world came tumbling down
You prayed to God what have we done

Free me from these chains I need to change my way
Heal these broken wings I need to fly far away, far away, far away

Was it emptiness that made you weep
No more secrets to keep
Was it bitterness that gave you time
To forgive your sins
Was the earth spinning round
Were you falling through the ground
As the world came tumbling down
You prayed to God what have we done

Free me from these chains I need to change my way
Heal these broken wings I need to fly far away
Free me from these thoughts long forgotten down below
Take these angel's words give them life to carry on, carry on, carry on
Free me from these chains…

Man, I could probably make a list of 30 songs that would be great. Doesn't help that I have a certain preference for these kinds of songs. OK 2 more and I'm done.

Now We Are Free - Gladiator (that's right the movie, I love this song from it for some reason)
http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9121253338.mp3

Fiona Apple - I Know
http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/9121304482.mp3

Spoiler:
So be it, I'm your crowbar
If that's what I am so far
Until you get out of this mess

And I will pretend
That I don't know of your sins
Until you are ready to confess
But all the time, all the time
I'll know, I'll know

And you can use my skin
To bury secrets in
And I will settle you down

And at my own suggestion
I will ask no questions
While I do my thing in the background
But all the time, all the time
I'll know, I'll know

Baby
I can't help you out
While she's still around

So for the time being
I'm being patient
And amidst the bitterness
If you'll just consider this
Even if it don't make sense
All the time, give it time

And when the crowd becomes your burden
And you've early closed your curtains
I'll wait by the backstage door

While you try to find
The lines to speak your mind
And pry it open, hoping for an encore
And if it gets too late
For me to wait
For you to find you love me, and tell me so
It's ok, don't need to say it.
Will they!?

I'm starting to have a newfound appreciation for all songs that fall below 75 bpm. Lots of ambient stuff, as well as some jazzy contenders. I can't help but think that Quiet Place songs seem to have a blurry border with Chillout Lounge songs, since they're all so relaxing. I could definitely chill out to all these songs, which is what I was doing earlier in fact

I definitely like Muse's "Unintended" so far, something real good would have to knock it out of an album spot, in my opinion. It's still difficult to distinguish the best variety out of the 20 or so songs everyone posted.

Keep 'em coming. That said, here's my bias for vgm again with another beautiful song:
Dimension Breach by Yasunori Mitsuda from Chrono Cross

Cyrus XIII, Devo, BucPride - I guess I would prefer samples of these songs sometime as well...no rush yet
