On the list of smart ideas, telling an SMod to get his head out of his ass just doesn't make it.

Brady's got a point - what WERE you trying to say if not 'I dislike black politicians and consider them racist'?
Thanks for the props but this post is pretty

I'm just making fun of race traitors.

I don't even know how you can possibly misconstrue what I said into that, no matter how many illogical leaps of stupidity you take.

The ONLY time I ever made mention to race was to distance him from other political figures like Jesse Jackson, who make it to the forefront of the media far too often. For some reason Denicalis and now you seem to think that I'm only able to see things in extremes and therefore I think ALL black political figures harp on racism.

I also find it absolutely astounding that he is a black political figure who realizes that America HAS changed from the 1930's as far as racial tolerance goes.
Yeah. How could ANYONE misconstrue what you said, I wonder. Maybe it's not that you're a bigot, maybe it's just that you can't write concisely or clearly to save your life. Or maybe it's that you're just a retard, and I can quote you back at you all day long to prove my point. Like I just did.

Absolutely astounding that he isn't some crazy nutso black rage freak. ASTOUNDING. I mean absolutely astounding that a black political figure can somehow be rational. ASTOUNDING.

I call 'em like I see 'em, Darklink, and when I read your post I saw plenty of racism, not to mention religious intolerance. Whether or not you've come to terms with your prejudices is not my concern, calling them what they are is.

A rose by any other name is still a rose, and a racist who seeks to disguise his unfair and unfounded beliefs is still a fucking racist.

A word to the wise is infuriating.

I don't hate black people but god those fucking beaners make me want to kill them every time >: (

In all seriousness though, fuck off. I said I would be wary of electing a Muslim or someone with a Muslim background to office in a time like this. Not because I hate the religion, but because of the way things are right now in the world. If that makes me religiously intolerant than so be it, but that is a really weird definition. If we were fighting a group of radical Christians who thought it was a mission from God to destroy the US, I'd think twice before electing a Christian to office, or anyone with that kind of background.

And like I said, I now realize that's not even an issue with Obama. I was misinformed about his past, and I'm happy that I could find out what was really going on.

I still can't see how on earth you can get "racist" out of that though.

I call facts like I see them. I see an awful lot of prominent black political figures who rip on "the white people" for oppressing the black people, and saying nothing has changed for "the black people." And I stand by what I said - it is very refreshing to see someone respectable enough to see things how they really are. Not perfect and in need of change - but an improvement over the past nonetheless. And I like to cheer people on who think like that.

For some reason you made the jump that I think all black politicians are like that. I'm not sure what would posses you to do that sort of thing other than maybe you've got some issues of your own to resolve.

If you just want to sit here and twist my words around I'm not going to bother responding.

It was a brilliant speech that struck all the right cords, and I admire Obama's refusal to throw anybody under the bus. I've derived immense enjoyment from how they've tried to spin the speech on Fox News.
How exactly are they spinning the speech?

It's an interesting idea because I was shocked as I read it how clear it is for a politician. I mean, granted, it's the usual hopeful stuff, but he made some comments that made it exceedingly clear where he was on topics, something I never heard of from (modern) politicians.

Yeah. I mean. How could they possibly jump to that conclusion.

Good, fuck off. But somehow I doubt you'll actually stick to those words.

How exactly are they spinning the speech?
One notable example involved Brit Hume and his all white panel trying to spin Obama's mentioning of his Grandmother as if he was outing her.

CNN was ignoring the content and having some guy try to argue that Obama didn't go far enough to distance himself.

Scientologist? If they're not from the Free Zone, then no, because the actual, official church is a fucking crazy cult that scares me more than anything else in the world right now for the sheer fact that it still exists in its present form.

Southern Baptist? No, because I'm heavily liberal, and I highly doubt that one would have any views I agree with.

In the almost oxymoronic case that there IS a liberal Southern Baptist candidate, though, then yeah, I would.

If their religion didn't reflect on their voting record or their approach to government? Yes. I don't think religion and state should mix, and I don't think god/xenu/flying spaghetti monster/captain hook should have a say in government policy.

For example, I like a lot of Mike Huckabee's policies. I think he's got a fair voting record and was a decent politician. And then he said he wants to change the constitution to reflect the 10 commandments. That worries me. If Obama came out and said his lord and saviour had directed him to run for president and change the face of the country, I'd worry. I don't care if you're religious, but I wouldn't vote for anyone who bases their logic and governmental approach on fantasy.

They were Southern Baptist? I wasn't aware.

But yes, I would vote for them. As I implied, religion doesn't matter all that much (with the exception of scientology, but that's a whoooooole different thread) in terms of my vote. I basically follow two questions: whether the candidate is a fucking psycho, and do I agree with the candidate's views more than the others.

Jimmy Carter was the first political evangelist, using his position as president to attack abortion. He helped kickstart the Fourth Awakening as a political movement. He was also just an awful president in general, why the Hell would you ever vote for him?

As per RR's question, no to both, unless the Baptist does not make his religion an issue.

Perhaps I should have added a caveat to that answer: With the limited knowledge of both candidates at this moment, I would vote for them. My apologies.

So can anybody point out to me where Obama threw his grandmother under the bus? Because I'm pretty sure he said she's great despite being a secret racist.

Anyone that's intelligent wouldn't assume this. Because the whole point of the speech was to point out that while you may not agree with someone on some issue, you can still respect and even love them.

I know you know this, Brady. But apparently like, 75% of Americans can't comprehend the concept. GO FOR THE THROAT.

Yeah. I wonder what it's like to be a politician or political analyst, lying through your teeth while wearing a shitfaced grin. It can't be easy. The money must be good.
