If she is as 'pure' (corruption wise) as she claims, then she can do mcuh good to the US.

I love her pragmatism. Despite her social conservatism, she doesn't want to impose creationism to schools.

In other news, Palin's 17-year old daughter is preggerz and is going to marry the father.

Quote:
ST. PAUL - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.

"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us," the Palins' statement said.

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the Palins said.

The Palins asked the news media to respect the young couple's privacy.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," the statement concluded.

McCain knew
Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way.

In the short period since she was announced last Friday, Palin has helped to energize the Republican Party's conservative base, giving the McCain camp fresh energy going into the campaign for the Nov. 4 election against Democrat Barack Obama.

McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.

According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.

A senior McCain campaign official said the McCain camp was appalled that these rumors had not only been spread around liberal blog sites and partisan Democrats, but also were the subject of heightened interest from mainstream news media.

"The despicable rumors that have been spread by liberal blogs, some even with Barack Obama's name in them, is a real anchor around the Democratic ticket, pulling them down in the mud in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their 'campaign of change,"' a senior aide said.

You mean like when they raised a big fuss about Dick Cheney's daughter having a baby with her girlfriend?

Usually the Christian right does not make such a big fuss over things like that. They have a higher tolerance for hypocrisy than the left, if the uproar over Cheney's daughter is of any indication.

So apparently, Tucker Bounds says Sarah Palin is qualified enough to be the President due to her experience as the commander of the Alaska National Guard.

But he can't name one important decision she made in that position.

At least she didn't let the government build a bridge to nowhere!

Haha!!

Palin associated with disgraced Alaskan senator Ted Stevens' political fundraising.

Watts, I totally disagree on "what's a VP do?" being a dog whistle. The timing just doesn't make sense. This is way before she was being handled by the McCain camp (or really anyone). I think she was just trying to play hard to get (good idea) and ended up sounding like a doofus (bad idea).
None of this is making sense. I could be completely wrong about this, but I'm starting to think she wasn't even vetted properly. The bad news is practically growing by the hour. The only thing that does make sense is that McCain cynically tried to grab votes and money, and it's starting to backfire.

This is the best the Republicans have to offer; REPUBLICANS GONE WILD!

I wouldn't say it's backfiring, yet. The Dems aren't taking advantage of anything, it seems, until after the GOP convention.

And, as usual, people I've seen shouting about how they hate the negative aspects of politics coming back and saying the dems should take advantage of someone's personal, utterly unpolitical, situation. Is Palin's daughter running for political office? Do YOUR moral views coincide perfectly with your parents'? No? Then what the fuck does it matter?

You want to know why politics continue to be such a massive joke that alienates the huge majority of the population into apathy? Because as much as you pricks sit back and complain about how you don't like it, you respond most actively to bullshit like this.

They'll stop doing it if you stop caring. It's not that fucking hard.

Worse still - for all their breast-beating over the changes Obama will bring to office and this and that and the other thing, I can't get past the fact that so many Obama supporters put such heavy emphasis that he's BLACK.

Are you voting for him because he's black? Does being black make him better suited somehow? Does it matter that he's also a male? Would it be better if he was black and female? Or asian and female? Perhaps a dog would be best. I'd like to see Benji and Lassie get into a debate over possible nuclear proliferation in Korea. That would make for some good television.

Show me where I said the Dems SHOULD take advantage of the situation. I personally don't give a shit if her daughter's knocked up, but you KNOW that some Democrats will use it.

I think the fact that you pointed it out at all - and apparently have Democratic leanings - says more than you want to let on.

So it's a coincidence that you said something you could've said earlier just after a post I make? My mistake.

Additional Spam:

Well, what are you going to believe: my apparent insinuations or the fact that I'm coming out and saying that I don't give a shit?

Coincidence? Yeah, pretty much. Since it was when I finally got around to reading the thread.

The fact you're getting this defensive about it says maybe I should have been talking directly about you, though. Dope, you have delusions of adequacy and importance. You should see to that.

Ow, a potshot. I deserved that.

If you think I feel important having you follow me around, dissing me and bashing me at every turn, I think you need to look in the mirror and consider your own problem of self-importance.

Things like this NEVER end well

I don't know about you guys, but I am highly amused by the situation. I don't see why I am not allowed to think Palin (and Cheney and whateverthefuck) are huge, raging hypocrites.

Not to say that the Dems are much better, but I think the whole "abstinence only" shit goes right out the window with the woman.

As for personal attacks from the bloggers/media/whatevs, I don't care what they've got to say, since it's my opinion that I need to form.
