CNN coverage makes my head hurt. Naomi Wolf had all the speaking skill of a 2nd grade teacher, and now they're moving onto some dumbass bloggers and CNN's anchorwoman just said "blogosphere" more times than I've heard in a year.

McCain - doesn't say much of substance. "end our dependence on foreign oil" Additional Spam: McCain talks about WW2 "greatest invasion in history, in forever" Additional Spam: Obama - "18 billion dollars important, 300 billion dollars, really important." Proposes taxcuts for "95%" of working class families. What's wrong with the last 5%? Additional Spam: McCain - EARMARKS EARMARKS EARMARKS they call me "the sheriff" heheh ![]()

McCain's been trying to latch onto a "out of control spending" narrative all night, and it's not very convincing.

I must be the only one just LISTENING to the debates as opposed to watching it.

russian agression in Ossetia "When I'm President, I reserve the right to speak to whomever I wish in order to ensure the safety of Americans." POW REFERENCE RIGHT AT THE END FUCK YEAH YOU ARE THE BEST DEBATE I'VE SEEN LATELY |

I got woken up by the sound of uproarious applause. Think I fell asleep around when McCain was talking about his energy plan. What'd I miss?

I like how Obama would look at McCain and McCain wouldn't look back. McCain kept talking like Obama wasn't in the room and at one point was talking to Lehrer like he was a child, in kind of hushed tones. SCARY MAN

Yea, the whole Not Making Eye Contact When Directly Spoken To really really REALLY irritated me. It irritates me on every day levels - not just the Presidential level.
I loved the whole "I've been there, I've done that" schtick from McCain. After almost everything Obama said in the second half, McCain pulled this. But admittedly, McCain was much stronger in foreign policy than economy, expectedly. Also, within the first 15 minutes, when McCain was whining about Obama and the spending, I laughed so hard when he was all against pork barrel spending. I wish I had a transcript to note where I laughed. I think he forgot he took Palin as a VP or something. |
|
McCain kept repeating the same tired rhetoric we've all heard a hundred times before, especially during the primaries. His delivery is worn out, and his behavior makes him seem increasingly senile.
Obama may have caught McCain on some facts but that's essentially all he did tonight. He didn't stick McCain in any real way or seem to be forceful with his policy intentions. He also failed to differentiate himself in significant ways wasting his time on all that "I agree" bullshit. What a waste of goddamn time. ![]() |
