The screenshots with the girl are from FFXIII. The screenshots with the guy are from FF Versus XIII.

We don't know anything at all about the content of Agito, FFXIII, or Versus anyways, so I think it's too early to start berating Square for creating Fabula Nova Crystallis. I mean, all we know is that it's about crystals. How exactly are Agito and Versus supposed to tie into FFXIII? Perhaps the answer and the underlying connections between the three games will make things clearer. Until then, we can just sit back and wonder why Square's cashing in on FFXIII so early.

Also, is the heroine's weapon like an actual gunblade? Been watching the footage, and it looks like the blade is on a pivot on the gun.

Sweet! I just saw the video Hantei posted, definitely has a real time feel to it; the girl sorta reminds me of Ashe from FF12 except more badass.

Yeah. Sony's press conference got really boring really fast. I'm still balking at the PS3 price tag.

Has anyone thought that it's perhaps a Final Fantasy ALL-STARS kind of game? Like Smash Brothers or Kingdom Hearts? I just know that Square knows that they'd sell millions if they did that.

Oh man, this looks great, and guys thanks for the links to the teaser!

Really, it’s hard to tell if it’s real-time or CG, which is good news.

I really like the fact that they are pulling off 3 games to start with, meaning that they anticipate a market large enough for 3 bigs games, meaning the gaming market/world has grown (and will grow) a lot, which mean (for us) more games, better quality, more budget, more of everything...

I don't think so. Versus XIII sounds like it's meant to tie in to XIII and yet kinda stand on its own as a legitimate game. Square's page even touts that "harmony is realized in this alternate tale of FINAL FANTASY XIII."

I've always been curious about Square making a game like that. When Kingdom Hearts came out, I decided that maybe that was as far as they were willing to go.

Ya know, I really wasn't prepared for this news. WAY too much crap Square is shoving down me throat at this moment. I haven't barely even (as well as quite a few others...like lots of others) touched FFXII yet, and now they bombared with more stuff. I'm sorry Square, but my wallet ain't gonna fit, along with Sony's new toy on the line.

Maybe if they told me in E3 2007 when at least I digested FFXII, then I'd be whetting for more. Seriously.

Being that the game is called FF Versus XIII, and it will be created by the Kingdom Hearts team. What if really stands for Final Fantasy Versus Organization 13(from KH2). Stupid Random Thoughts, I know. But that actually makes more sense than Final Fantasy Versus the Number 13.

Taking into account the Latin that's sprinkled throughout this whole project, Square's said that "versus" means "to change direction" in reference to Versus XIII.
