Nintendo Gives a Wii out
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hrkbI_TDOnQ
HOLY CRAP! A free Wii given out to the kid. Kudos to him though for staying positive and energetic seeming though how he's blind. Most amazing jew boots
Missing that one music track:
Fire Fight - Mission X // Frostbite |
The echolocation reminds me of the Batboy that that rediculously false tabloid magazine (the inquirer or something) published a while back. Other than that, I think giving a blind kid video games is pretty redundant, while Ellen's heart may be in the right place.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Someone tell him to rip a copy of Twilight Princess so we can all play it on an emulator.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
and Brandy does her best to understand
|
It's a nice gesture, but yeah, it's like giving chocolate to someone who is allergic to it...
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Will I get a free Wii now if I blind myself?
Seems likely. Worth the risk, certainly. I was speaking idiomatically. |

I forgot my old sig...

I don't suppose someone's uploaded this in a better quality?
Because my god. You might as well be blind while watching this. FELIPE NO |
First, Marked for deletion (Old.) I saw this shit yesterday.
Secondly, what's so amazing about this. OK, she gave away the same stuff to every guest that episode. OK, so he's blind and they gave him a game console. Big fucking woop. You do realize they show him kicking someone's ass in Soul Calibur in the introduction video, right. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
But...it is a Wii. Nintendo fanboys such as us must worship it and never doubt nintendo...
Jam it back in, in the dark.

Who cares. The kid has sonar like abilities if you saw it on TV. I just randomly catched it before school in the morning.
How ya doing, buddy? |
I actually read an article about this kid somewhere, and it said that he uses the sounds in the game to play it. Somehow. It's cool, I guess. He's a pretty amazing kid.

A few weeks ago I saw a segment on a blind guy who snow skis on his freetime.

Impressive. I can only snow ski on snow.
(ban me before I hurt myself) I was speaking idiomatically. |
Good points, he should sell on EBay for the $$$ heh!
But sonar or not, I don't see how anyone could know where on a uniform TV monitor you should point the Wiimote at, but for the games that don't utilise that feature much it's alright. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Outside of gaming, That's actually pretty amazing that he can locate things with sound alone. I don't know if he's faking or whatnot, but if he's not, that's amazing. Remember, the Wii also has a speaker in the Wiimote. Could that give you some audio hints?
How ya doing, buddy? |
Nintendo was talking some time ago about using the speaker in the controller for a separate game that didn't even involve a television. It would use vibration and sound clues to alert you to where things are and then you'd walk around the room until you came to it. A treasure hunt of sorts. And I find it amazingly cool.

His abilities are quite impressive. However, the video bored me to death before it got to the Wii giveaway part.

Its easy. Someone cut the middle portion of a 64 controller out, a length of cable and your T.V remote, tape it all together and break into his house and replace his Wii with some DVD cases stacked together and taped.
He'll never know the difference. Sure you might be going to burn in hell, but isn't it worth it? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
LOL FAG! |
I really am worried about typing what im going to type, but I will type it anyways, and I apologise if it sounds offensive.
I think that that video just opitimises exactly what is wrong with shitty american TV shows. The kid comes in and dances to the music playing and the audience are all dancing along and cheering and applauding him. Why must people over compensate for peoples short comings. A simple applause would have been fine, but no, that stupid fat woman starts body grinding. It really made me angry to sit and watch it. I really detest any kind of chat shows and im sorry to say this but I blame america for them. They came from america and now they have leaked into every free half hour on british TV. What the kid has done with his life is very cool, he has worked through a terrible infliction and for that I say kudos, but applauding and wooping at him when he walks on and dances around? Why? If someone with eyes had come on and done that, they would have laughed, but because he has an infliction everyone must show just how normal and ok it is to do things like that. He isnt a fooking dog! HE DOESNT NEED PATTING ON THE HEAD EVERY TIME HE REMEMBERS TO PEE IN THE RIGHT PLACE! Sorry to sound ranty, I really hate chat shows, and to that extent, SNL too. Same reasons but with more of a twist on the fact that anything the presenter says is worthy of balls of laughter and rounds of applause. : Takes off flat cap and puts walking stick away : Giving him a Wii? Nice in my opinion, he plays video games, wants to design them, so for coming on ellen, he gets a console. The logic behind that is phenominal. Im sure that the amount of money he gets from the other appearances and things wouldnt cover the price of a $200 computer. Im in a bad mood, sorry for the venting, feel a little better now. Oh and HazelGuy, your probably going to hell but damned if I didnt crack a small smile at that I was speaking idiomatically. |
fiercedeity: I actually agree with you a great deal.
I personally believe that people who aren't "afflicted" do a great service to those who are merely by treating them like any other human being. It gives them dignity and respect. More topical: I wonder if the sound on some of these games, for example Red Steel, will be good enough for him to actually be able to play effectively. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
