I remember being told that, on average, necessary amount of sleep is six-and-a-half hours. I get enough sleep by the average, I suppose. If I don't in a given week, I make it up on the weekend.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

On weekdays, I get 5-6 hours of sleep, which sucks because I need more. I'm usually tired during the day, and feel awake during the nights. Stupid Internet keeping me up.

On weekends though, I usually sleep for 8 hours, sometimes a little bit more or less.

Geez I dont get much sleep at all these days.. I got to sleep around 4 am.. Cuz my favorite show is on 3:00 am and lasts an hour.

I wake up around 1, and that kinda eats the hell out of my day right there.. I wish they would bump the time slot up for starhunter ... YES that;s right, star hunter.. Wanna fight about it?!

I like Tanya Allens acting skills on that show, plus simple story lines, very low budget.. Really inspires you on what you can accomplish if you have an idea and want to follow through on it.

Well time to go eat breakfast (seriously) it's 2:00 pm lol!!

Lately, with being sick and all, I've been making a point of going to bed as early as I can. Usually though I think I'm getting about 6 hours of sleep, so anything more is bonus.

There was a time when I would operate regularly on only 2 to 4 hours of sleep every night. Those were good times, but I'm already too old to be doing that it seems. Oh well, maybe when I start going back to school again I will, see what happens.

I'm normally too "busy" chatting on #gfchat late at night to sleep, so I end up going to bed around 3 or 4. That kinda sucks when you have to be at school by 7:30, but whatever. I make up for it in class.

I definitely don't get enough sleep. Like yesterday, instead of going to bed at midnight, I stayed up until 4am and I had to get up at 8am. I try to get at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep and saying I'll go to bed by 12am or 1am. Unfortunately, I never do that. I go to bed between 2:45am and almost 5am everyday. Most of the time I have to get up by 8am or 9am. I suppose that's why I haven't been feeling too grand the past couple of days.

Wow, that is utterly ridiculous. How can you function the next day with that little sleep? I get like 6 hours on school nights and I have troubles staying awake for the first few periods.

Most of the time I do. The only exception is on Monday and Wednesday nights. I usually like to stay up late, like til at least 1AM, but I have to be at school early on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The problem is, I still stay up, even on those days. Other than that, I get plenty of sleep most of the time.

I work, so I have to get enough sleep to make it through the 8+ hour workday. I go to bed at around 9:30-10:00PM (with sleep following soon after) and awaken around 5:30AM. I don't get the optimal amount of sleep though, I am tired most of the day and only during my days off do I truely feel rested. This is to be expected though, work + any lost sleep will always make someone tired. Even losing one hour of sleep on a semi-consistent basis will at least slightly impair your ability to work at your peak.
Speak of the devil, I'm getting tired now, 15 minutes and I'll be clocking out for the night.

Don't know what it is, but only within the past couple months I've started getting no more than 8 hours of sleep. I'll get less if I stay up too late, but if I have more than 8 hours between falling asleep and when my alarm is supposed to go off, I'm still only getting 8 hours of sleep. This contrasts sharply with my sleeping patterns when working at Circuit City (8+ hours always) and school (8 hours would be a blessing ).

Most nights I sleep enough but sometimes I worry I go to sleep too late. I sleep at 5AM on weekends but end up waking up at 5PM the next day, and weekdays I usually sleep at 2AM and wake up at 1PM.

I remember there was this study I read about that the later you sleep, the proportion of sleep required to feel rested rises with each hour after 11PM or something. So I may be getting 10-12 hours a night but sometimes I feel like it's not enough for my body since I get tired a lot, especially late afternoon. I was thinking I'm going to look like I'm 50 when I turn 25, I need to curb my sleeping habits. College just doesn't play well into a normal schedule.

I sleep around 6 hours total each night, except I tend to wake up at random hours. So in the end, I'm always tired in school and just about anywhere else.

All the caffeine I take in does not help matters either.

Back when I was on a tight schedule because of school and had set my alarm for 6 a.m. every morning, I definately didn't get enough sleep. I'd be up til 1 a.m. or so before falling asleep.

Now with two online courses and a night class that starts at 5:30 p.m. I get about 7-9 hours every night.

It's about 1:30, I have to wake up at 6 for classes. Yeah.

I do sleep in on the weekends though, and being in third quarter of senior year means many classes really don't require attention anyway.

normally i get 5 hours sleep which is not very enough since i do many extra-curriculums other than just going to school.
I guess we need about 7-8 hours of sleep.
Weekends i tend to get 6-7 hours of sleeps.

"No" would be my answer for this question. I'm a sleep-deprived college kid. Usually a lot of things to do and meetings/activities to attend, then plus the homework that I have to do after I get home... So I normally go to bed around 2AM (trying to go to bed by 1AM now), then waking up at 8 or 8:30, sometimes at 7 (for Wednesdays only). Since I don't get enough sleep during weekdays, that's why I sleep in until 2 or 3 in the afternoon on weekends.

Like Yunnie, I'm a sleep-deprived college kid. My schedule this year has gotten crazy with classes, work, socializing and single-handedly running a club so it's really screwed up my sleep schedule.

Not that I'm not loving every minute of it.

So I'd guess I'd get about 6-7 hours, but it's the wrong 6-7 hours so I still feel tired all the time. Maybe an hour or two more on weekends, but waking up early during the week means I now suck at sleeping late.

Last week, I got a total of 16 hours for the whole week, but I felt like crap this weekend, so I'm going to try to avoid doing that again.

lol... That's so true. While I'm busy and sleep-deprived, I actually enjoy being busy and glad that I have things to do. Being that I'm able to hang out with my friends while attending a meeting or running errands, sometimes I'm just so tired that once my head hit the pillow, I'd be asleep within 5 min. Hahaha...

I always aim to get 7 hours of sleep. Anything less and it tends to take a toll on me (with intensity and frequency factored in). In fact, sometimes I'm not even able to wake up until I've had 7 hours of sleep, as I'll turn off my alarms and crawl back into bed subconsiously. However, on weekends, often I'll get 10+ hours of sleep, because I love to lay in bed.

I go to sleep at 10:30 usually on weekdays, and wake up at 8:10. That's what, 9 hours and 40 minutes?

Maybe I should enjoy it while I can. The joys of middle school.

I've been averaging about 5 or 6 hours recently. It's not enough because I'm always tired, and I'm quite an active person. There's no reason, I wouldn't go as far to say I have insomnia but I can't get to sleep til about half one and then I wake up an hour or more before I need to get up. It's beginning to piss me off >.<
