I lost CD/Product key and keygens won't work
Is it at all possible to retrieve a CD key from the registry? I have a program installed that I'm also going to install on another computer, but I need the same product key that I used for my current computer.... a keygen will allow me to continue the install process but it will not let me authorize the product.
So.... are CD keys stored in the registry? I know there are programs that can discover the keys so they have to be stored on my computer somewhere, right? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
If you mean the Windows product key... then yes.
Magical Jelly Bean Software - Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder v1.5 It also does Office product keys. If you're looking for the key to something else... I don't know. I do know that most product keys won't let you activate the software on more than one PC though. Unless you've got a volume licence, such as is granted to unversities and such. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It really depends... What's the program?
How ya doing, buddy? |
Unfortunately it's not a Windows or Office key. The program is a VST sound library, EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Gold. Massive 9-DVD marathon.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO |
It being a Friday evening, the earliest I can contact them is in three days; in the meantime I'm searching for ways to find CD keys in the registry.
EDIT Holy fuck damn I was browsing one of my unused external hard drives for no reason and accidentally found a .txt file named 'Serial Numbers' and contained in that file is every CD Key for all my installed software. Holy shit I forgot all about that. Thanks guys for you help anyway though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
