Honestly, I'd have been pretty happy with either of these songs winning. I mean, this isn't the best Bowie song ever, but not-the-best-Bowie is still great, and the album that the Shatner track is off, Has Been, is genuinely a wonderful album. People think, "oh god, William Shatner", but there's a pretty big difference between his early godawful Beatles cover versions and the subtle self-mocking tone of his more recent material. His cover of Pulp's "Common People" is better than the original.

Who nominated Shatner, anyway?

|
So, are people willing to support the search for the worst song ever?
I could set up the nomination process at any time, then wait until whenever the BSC decides to wind itself down a bit. |
|
I'd say go ahead. I've got plenty of horror to subject people to.
In my experience waiting for the BSC won't make any difference: SAUS participation didn't dip significantly after the BSC began. The audiences are entirely different. ![]() |
