[Arcade] Great 4-Player Arcade Games?

Hey guys... my friends and I have been thinking lately about buying 4 USB controllers and playing some 4-player arcade games (via MAME emulator)... for old time's sake. Our first thought was Marvel vs. Capcom, which I thought was 4-player, but I guess it's not... right now we kinda just have the ninja turtles sidescroller and the dungeons & dragons sidescroller, and those get old kinda fast. I thought I remembered playing a bunch of 4-player arcade games as I kid, I just can't seem to recall the names of any of them.
Any 4-player arcade games you guys would really recommend?

That Simpsons beat em up. I forgot what it was called. It was 4 players, and adapted to the difficulty by adding more enemies when more people play. There is quite a bit of variety in level design. Overall, pretty fun.

If you don't want a beat em up, try.... ...... er... try.... Wow. I have no idea, actually. There was a fun Ghostbusters game, but that was only 3 players.

Heh, Oh yeah, and don't forget Alien vs Predator! Although that's only 3-player I think. It's really good though!!

I thought alot of the Gauntlet Games in the world now and days were four person playing. Other than that I don't have many suggestions.

Have you tried Knights of the Round? It's like a mix between Final Fight and Dungeons & Dragons.

Thunder Zone
The Ninja Kids
TMNT - Turtles in Time
Techmo Bowl
Puzzle Bobble 4

Four player arcade games begin and end with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Not Turtles in Time. Just TMNT the Arcade game.

I have many many memories of plowing other kids down in Chuck E Cheese to get to the machine with 3 of my friends and kick some foot-clan ass.

GI Joe is the codename for America's highly trained special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against COBRA. A ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

Keep in mind that playing these games in MAME with an infinite number of credits will gradually deteriorate the fond memories you had of these games, and make their flaws much more apparent.

I recall having a thread like this when I first posted in the Game forum section in the old GFF. Games mentioned but worth mentioning again: X-men , TMNT , TMNT TiT(Turtles In Time...heh just notices its a funny acronym), Knights of the Round (although its 3 players...I think), Simpsons was fun (except theres a buttload of enemies in 4 player mode) and if you wanna just go the two player route...Street Fighter 2 and its many incarnations....Final Fight, and Mortal Kombat.

Gauntlet Legends!

If Punisher could be 4 players:

I'd hit it.

The X-Men arcade and Gauntlet Legends are probably the most memorable for me. Unfortunately, some years ago the local arcade took out GL, and my level 75+ wizard with it.

Marvel vs Capcom does have a 4 players rom out there, i think it basicly comes with the normal rom. King of fighter series also had up to 6 player option and some of the other Capcom/marvel vs series. X-men is also a fun to play with 4 players. Thats about all I know, not many out there that I've played
Now there'll be some quiet in this town.

I'd recommend any of the Capcom Dungeons and Dragons games. I'm pretty sure it's 4 player, and there's some nice RPG elements added in to keep it from getting stale.

Even though it's not a true arcade game, Super Smash Bros. was made to have 4 players. The way it zooms out, the challenges availible at the beginning, the balancing. It makes for a great fighting game and an even better party game.
When Smokers try to lasso him, he grabs their tongues and pulls them to HIM instead.

When Hunters jump on him he flips them over, pins them to the ground, and rips out their teeth one at a time.

When Boomers vomit on him he wipes himself off, shoots peptobismol into their mouths, and performs liposuction on them before splattering their brains on the wall.

When a Tank throws a chunk of concrete at him he rolls up his sleeves and puts on boxing gloves.

When a Witch gives him lip he pulls his hand back and slaps that bitch right in the mouth.
