They could even get some craphole translators like the guys over at Dattebayo to do that overnight.

Well, I got myself a Clasic Controller (no one told me of it's awesome non waggle Wii menu pointer option) and a 2000 points card and got myself S&P and I'm enoying the hell out of it even if I don't understand one lick of the story (The goverment are arseholes and are aiming to kill a rebellion when thier first priority should be an alien infestation?) and I honestly don't know if I'm playing as a man or a woman (Saki suggests female, but his/her voice suggests male).

Oh and If you guys are hurting for some hate; they don't have a Duel Shock configeration for one stick does move and the other does aim, go on, rage for that.

So that leaves me with 800wp, eyeing the Super Nes cataloge just now.
All I'm saying is that if the laptops of the future are not in the
shape of chibi genie girls then I'm going to be sorely disappointed.

They didn't even have to. They fully localized the game when it was first released in Japan in 2000.

Which stick do you use to aim, anyway? Do they make you move with the d-pad, or the buttons? I hate aiming with the right analog stick.

Uh, the way I have it is D-pad = Move, Right Analoge Stick (the one nearest the buttons)= Aim.

Seems to work fine for me.

Sure, I wouln't mind Left Stick = Move and Right = Aim but eh.

I was just curious if you could aim with the left stick. I'm a thousand times more accurate with my left thumb than my right thumb.

Although, I doubt I'll bother with the game anymore if they're not even going to translate it. I already have the N64 version.

From what I have, they translated the menus (which wern't translated in the orgional), the tutorials and the ending (according to it's VC page). They havn't translated the JP subtitles for the stage-prologes (but that's a non issue cuz those have english dubbing).

Just got to 2-1...god that cat thing is such a pain in the ass.

and Maybe i'm geting my right from left mixed up cuz have the flu, I use the dpad to move and I use the stick nearest to the buttons to aim, am I mixing it up?

Oh, and got DKC 2 cuz I wanted to play that again, man it's hard. But enjoyable hard.

WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Oct. 1, 2007

This is a special week on the Wii Shop Channel. Frankly, it's a gamer's dream come true: Nintendo is launching the new Import genre with the release of two games that previously have never been available in the Western Hemisphere on their original platforms. The first will be hugely popular with Mario™ fans, who will love reliving the style of his classic games as they encounter new skills, new levels and new dangers. Nintendo® 64 enthusiasts also get a masterpiece of the shooter genre and perhaps the best game never released outside of Japan. Welcome to Import Week for the Wii Shop Channel!

The two new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Super Mario Bros.™: The Lost Levels™ (NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Originally released in Japan as Super Mario Bros.® 2, this game has previously made only brief cameo appearances in the Western Hemisphere. Now available on the Virtual Console™ in all of its original splendor, Mario fans will appreciate the familiar look and feel of the game, while finding that its updated game play creates an entirely new challenge. No longer content just to wear different-colored overalls, Mario and Luigi also possess different skill sets: Mario can stop quicker, while Luigi can jump higher. In addition to the classic enemies already known to fans worldwide, there are also Poison Mushrooms, backward Warp Zones, and the occasional wind gust (which can help or hinder your progress) to take into account. And if that's somehow not enough, expert players can go looking for the game's secret worlds. So get ready to put your Mario skills to the ultimate test, and save the Princess again. Just don't be surprised if she's in another castle.

Sin & Punishment™ (Nintendo 64, 1-2 players, rated T for Teen – Blood, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, 1,200 Wii Points): Created by the legendary development studio Treasure, this is a game that hard-core gamers and fans of Japanese imports recognize as one of the finest Nintendo 64 titles to have never previously reached North American shores. Its unique combination of English voice-overs with Japanese subtitles (preserved in this version) has only added to the enthusiasm for its eventual release here. Experience the frenetic pace of a classic shooter, while choosing from a variety of options and a number of different skill levels until you are ready to take on the full-blown challenge of Turbo Hard mode. Not to be outdone by the action, however, the intriguing story line gives the game its soul and draws you even further into the mix. Set in the near future, on an overpopulated Earth starved for resources, players uncover the intriguing mystery of two teenagers (Saki and Airan) and their battle against the Ruffians as they advance through level after level of nonstop action. Take a deep breath, gather your energy and prepare to see why this game is so highly praised.

If I wasn't buying Zelda this week and The Orange Box next week, I'd scoop up that Sin & Punishment like it was a chocolate covered candy concoction of flavorly goodness.

Any word on if S&P is a limited release thing? I don't want to see it go before I have a chance to nab it.

Why would they have a limited edition virtual download. That's just dumb.

Well, NoE took Lost Levels down last night. =\ The rest are staying up, but LL was a one month only thing. I don't think NoA's that retarded though, it's not mentioned if any of these are limited releases anywhere in the PR.

Probably the same line of thinking that is still keeping all but handheld games, region coded.

Except not, because that's done for a reason. Remember the PSP? Remember Lik-Sang?

Is there any difference between Lost Levels on VC and Lost Levels that came with SM All Stars for SNES?

Aside from better graphics and added extra music from the SNES version, I'd say not that much.

CPG settings complete. Neural linkage, ion density normal. Update meta motor cortex parameters. Nuclear reactor critical. Power flow is stable. Systems all green. Strike Freedom, system activated!

I've only heard of Sin and Punishment as of recently, is there anything that should make me get an orgasm and go download this game? It sounds good to begin with, but I need some reassurance on why I should get it... And perhaps get another Wii Points card since I might be short 100 points. >.<

But if I remember correctly, the main reason that happened was because some country was short on PSPs and the games aren't region coded, meaning you can play imports regardless of what country the PSP is from. I've never tried myself but I heard Nintendo's handhelds have always been that way. Why not console games? It would be nice to be able to play games that companies don't feel worth releasing here without modding a system or importing another version of a system you already have.

Heck I think stuff like that is why most DVD players can play any region code now and I'm pretty sure HD DVD and Blue Ray aren't region coded.

Anyhow, I shouldn't have started this cause we're gonna get way off topic.
