1080 Snowboarding is a fantastic game. The gameplay is entertaining and the combo system and moves bring back fond memories. I'd compare it favorably to Tony Hawk, although it has honestly been ages since I played either one.

So, yes, go get it.

Kirby 64 was also a really fun game. It took me forever to even find a copy to rent, but it plays just like a classic Kirby. The Power-Combining feature in the game was pretty neat, too. Kind of like Gunstar Heroes, except with more options.

I still remember how Turok 2 was so expansive I'd always get hopelessly lost in the second area. I think they said the game had like 20 square miles of terrain. The sheer scope of that game is mindboggling. Also, can't forget the infamous fog.
Don't remind me. I remember going around in circles and getting headaches playing for hours. For the later levels I got lost so easily it wasn't even funny. =(

I haven't downloaded a VC release since Castlevania IV. Anyone know how much chunk of memory a Neo-Geo game would take up? I am interested in getting Magician Lord.

I thought we would get Beetle Adventure Racing sooner than 1080.
Besides Pilotwings 64, we are in need of Majora's Mask. Body Harvest and Blast Corps are another couple of games that could benefit the VC catalog.

Do you think the original Smash Bros could be available around the release of Brawl?

Oh my god, Blast Corps was one of my favorite N64 games ever. I spent months just destroying shit.

That game should have never existed. Granted the gameplay was like that of Ocarina of Time and the story was decent, however here's a complaint about this game: Worst ending ever.

If there's a N64 game besides Goldeneye that needs to be released on the Virtual Console, it has to be Bomberman 64.

CPG settings complete. Neural linkage, ion density normal. Update meta motor cortex parameters. Nuclear reactor critical. Power flow is stable. Systems all green. Strike Freedom, system activated!

I can't actually fathom why you hated that game? That game was my favourite game of all time for a long, and still ranks way up there. I think Majora's Mask picked up on alot of things that Ocarina missed, and i actually enjoy playing through Majora more than Ocarina.

Also, how is the ending any worse than ocarina's? I thought Majora's Mask did a wonderful job of taking the Ocarina formula and adding a much more atmospheric feel, and a sense of style that you can't get in early Zelda games. If i didn't have this game for Gamecube, i'd be on a hunger strike until it came out on VC.

I'd probably wait for the download on the VC though... But do I really wanna blow off $45 on the collector's disc?

Maybe...

Sounds like an excellent way to lose weight.

Since I don't have it for N64, I will be eagerly awaiting its release for virtual console. Man, I've been working on Contra III, an epic game I missed for SNES many eons ago. I was already bitching about it in chat, but the gameplay just hurts so good. Game is hard as hell but so damn fun it defies logic. Maybe it is just the element of strategy that one has to employ in a run and gun, like having to decide which gun powerups to use on which bosses, that make it so engaging. When I have some extra $$$s kicking around, I'm thinking I'm totally going to pick up Contra IV for the DS.

That's why I want Sunset Riders on the VC (the SNES version, NOT the Genesis one). Kickass Konami run and gun game, essentially Contra with cowboys. Great fun with two players, too.

What I loved about the game is that I'm pretty sure no one on earth has ever completed it. Last I heard people were playing levels on Neptune or someshit but needed diamond medals on every level to unlock anymore.

AWW come now SuperSonic, Lets be friends.

Seriously though, the real ending to the game wasn't the main quest, it was Anju and Kafei. That was the real story and the real, heart wrenching, ending.

Classic fans, you might be in for a treat. This week on Virtual Console US (12/31/07):

Top Hunter (NeoGeo)
Light Crusader (Genesis)
Bubble Bobble (NES)

I've heard a lot of people really like the last one. XD

I haven't heard of the other two, but Bubble Bobble was 'meh' for me. I prefer Bust a Move. There's a game they could release which I'd probably get.

Light Crusader is a game by Treasure. Very similar to Landstalker, in that it's a Genesis, isomorphic, Zelda-ish game where you stab things, solve puzzles, etc. It's not a bad game, certainly worth a play, but I'd take Landstalker over it.

Damn, that looks awesome. Gotta love the blend of 80s rock and roll with cowboy spaghetti western music. Good times.

Can never have enough Bubble Bobble. Because it's Bubble Bobble, and Bubble Bobble is pretty Bubble Bobble. I think I'll get Bubble Bobble. Wish Master System was part of the VC circus, because its version of Bubble Bobble is better than the NES Bubble Bobble. Not by much, but by Bubble Bobble. Maybe we'll also eventually see the hot barely legal NES exclusive Bubble Bobble 2. That'd be neat. That'd be Bubble Bobble.
