In other news regarding the gift system, I finally got Super Mario RPG. Go figure they're not gonna send you a message saying that someone sent it. You actually have to go inside the store now.

And here I was waiting for two days to get that message.
Sometimes you get a message, sometimes you don't. Good old Nintendo.

I probably won't even touch the game until I'm done with Vesperia.

Same here. I fought off the temptation to buy SMRPG last week because I've been spending the majority of my gaming time with Vesperia.

Ah~ Chou Aniki is pretty hard, even on easy !

Sometime it's just me being careless, but you really have to watch all sizes of projectiles since the smallest specks can kill you. I've been redoing Stage 2 over and over again for the last hour, only reaching the 2nd train boss once out of all those times. Even though it's good as pattern recognition training, I really want to get to the bizzaro levels since everything has actually been quite normal so far, ignoring Samson and Adon and the anthropomorphic trains.
Spider inside my dreams, I think I love you.

Most of them you actually have to use a gamecube controller or the classic controller because the regular Wii controller doesn't have enough buttons.

Megaman 2 (NES, 500 points) is the only entry in this week's VC lineup, which is fine, because it's such an awesome game that it would have obscured any companion.

Is there really a need to have separate threads for VC and WiiWare? They come out at the same time, and my inclination is to discuss them as one release.

Megaman 2 is awesome, but most people have it in some form already. At least it means MM9 isn't too far away.

1000 points for Megaman and Megaman 2. You're better off getting this:

See, that's what I kept bitching about earlier, what with the near-constant stream of Genesis games that I own on two or three different discs (Sega Genesis Collection and the Sonic Mega Collection/Gems Collection, anyone?)

As awesome as some of these releases are, why the hell would I want to buy something that's available in a much cheaper/comprehensive form?
Ho ho ho! Going down! D:

This week's releases: two for VC and, surprisingly, two for WiiWare. For VC:

Super Dodge Ball (NES) - 500 points
Vectorman (Genesis) - 800 points

Of course...let's face it. Mega Man 9 is stealing the show today on WiiWare.

CPG settings complete. Neural linkage, ion density normal. Update meta motor cortex parameters. Nuclear reactor critical. Power flow is stable. Systems all green. Strike Freedom, system activated!

So . . . umm. . . since this is a combined thread now, probably the person doing the update should include the WiiWare stuff in their update from now on.

And hey, two decent games on the VC for once. Granted, I already have Vectorman in two different disc-based forms, but whatever.

The other game on WiiWare is PLÄTTCHEN twist 'n' paint for 1,000 points. Some kind of puzzle/shooter that will be completely overshadowed by MM9. Dodgeball is tempting, though.

This week's releases:

Virtual Console
Super Turrican 2 (SNES) - 800 points

WiiWare
Bomberman Blast - 1000 points
Art Style: ORBIENT - 600 points

That Bomberman one is tempting, but I've heard there's a similar game on XBLA so I'll wait.

Has anyone tried out Orbient? After hearing it was actually one of the GBA Bit Generations titles, I was interested, then I watched the video on the Nintendo Channel and was less than wowed. Now I'm reading the stellar reviews that say that the visuals don't do the game justice.

So let's have a look at the PAL update today, oh Shining Force 2 a-

EARTHWORM JIM

Earthworm Jim!

Seems they've sped up the music to match the proper NTSC version, but the game still plays 50Hz slow, meaning the animation loses some of its awesomeness. But it's still EWJ!
