Awesome. I'd been wanting to try that game, since I heard so much about it, but I never got around to it. I'll definitely be picking it up for 360 for the achievements.

wot?

Hmm. Wonder if this is why they haven't added the original to the backwards compatibility list...?

The original CoR:EFBB was one of the finest first-person games on the Xbox.

I can only wonder how the multiplayer mode will work. Some kind of Guards vs. Convicts play maybe? Or an all-out death match between inmates?

This game is going to be released in the Spring of 2009. It looked like it was canceled when Actvision and Blizzard merged, but Atari picked up the game.

It wasn't added because it was next to impossible to do so. I think it was because of the proprietary engine being used at the time. Though I guess the reason for remaking it is an excuse to add any content they left out due to time constraints.

I'll pick this up despite owning the original, which is a great FPS and a great movie tie in game too.

Looks as sweet as ever. Can't wait even having played the original through and through.

(Kavanaugh hands out a piece of gum) Aceveda: No thank you. Kavanaugh: Nah come on this is a fresh pack, it's Juicy Fruit. (Aceveda stares at him for three seconds...)Aceveda: I said no...thank you. (holds it out still) Kavanaugh: hold this out long enough some people feel compelled to take the gum, it's a sign they'll crack under pressure. Aceveda: (with a smug look) I know. - The Shield

Jon Kavanaugh: "He's just PISSING all over this department, and we're just supposed to lick it up! Do you like the way that tastes? (Lifts his hand up to his mouth) Because it tastes like.....PISS to me!" - The Shield

I can't say that I'm a fan of Vin Diesel, or of the Riddick series for that matter. But I've heard nothing but good things about Butcher Bay, and from the new trailer, this game is looking pretty awesome. I'm glad someone picked it up. Can't imagine why ActiBlizzard would drop it. Between this and Ghostbusters, it seems like they just don't give a shit about their cool games.

IS VERY GOOOOD

A gamer blog had an article up talking about the fact that this is going to be a remake, but also an additional "chapter" added on to the original game, and is supposed to be about the same length.

So basically you get about 20 hours of gameplay instead of 10. Sounds good.

I had always meant to pick this game up when it first came out, but I never did, and I missed out on what I'm told was actually a really good experience.

I am happy to see I have another chance.

The game is available today. I picked up a copy for the 360. I'm a little over an hour into the game. I'm playing the Butcher Bay chapter first. Nice bump in graphics. I've noticed some extra dialogue from the other convicts. I'm not sure if the extra lines are from the PC Director's Cut or if they were recorded for this release. I read that this release will have the extra content from the Director's Cut. I played a couple rounds of Team Deathmatch. Average so far.

There's no way through. You're just going to have to fight it.

Have you tried that Pitch Black mode yet? It's an interesting concept that's entirely too easy to fuck up in execution, and I'm curious if it's turned out half as good as it sounds on paper. There was a similar idea in Splinter Cell, but the differences between Chaos Theory and Double Agent's takes on it shows just how much one can fuck up the whole thing.
