[Wii] Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers

I didn't know where to open this thread exactly since the Crystal Chronicles games are more Action-Adventures than Role-Playing Games. If you think it goes in the RPG sub-forum, feel free to move it.

Second official trailer, hot off the presses.

Note that the "ffccnews.jp" logo was hard-encoded into the original FLV and thus cannot be removed. The few "repeating" lines on the bottom of the movie were also encoded in the FLV (the official site had these covered with the play/pause buttons), this is not a compression error.

omg I don't like it... I don't like it at all >.< were are the cute little characters? they try too much to make it more realistic for me.

well we just saw the hume race... I hope the others races kept they're original aspect...

the only good thing I see about it and I really hope they'll do it, is online play. At least I hope they make a proper offline multi-player...

I guess I'll probably stay with the DS version, which seem more appealing to me.

Must be the one they showed at the conference the other week.

Celtic is nice, action looks fun, environments look purty, but I'm not sure if I like the new... look. I was really fond of the character and monster design of the original. Still, it could look worse, so this has only made me more excited.

Where are the other races, though? This better not be a single-player-- this shit needs to be online.
It's Agrias time.

It looks alright, though I don't really like the main character's look (the other person shown in the video was awesome though). Hopefully it turns out alright.

As for online and multiplayer? I'm willing to bet this is an offline, single player experience.

The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Why the hell did they change the art style? The teaser back at E3 was the chibi style, and after a long period of no news we get a whole new look, new gameplay and possible delays because of the overhaul?

What is with Square these days? I understand games can change during development, but this is a pretty big overhaul. Hell, RE4 didn't change how it looked, despite major story and gameplay changes.

I consider the E3 look something like the worst art style I've ever seen in any game (Wand of Gamelon, anyone?). The original and the new designs are far superior than the tumored main character from the first trailer. Also...airships! Yay. If they clean up the gameplay - which seems to be their main focus seeing how they changed Ring of Fates to a more RPG-esque experience - this could be a really great game because that was really the only flaw of the original FFCC.

The sound synthesizer seems close to that of Final Fantasy XII, doesn't it?

OMG you guys are crazy. This art style is SO much better than that chibi stuff! Most Americans, when they see chibi, are like, eh, wtf??? So it looks like they're actually trying to make it accessible to us.
And, the soundset sounds better than the one used in FFXII, which warms my heart .

Oh it looks better, I'm just wondering why the drastic change when Ring of Fates is still going to be the chibi style. Why not make that into a seperate game or something? It looks, plays and feels nothing like the FF CC series they seem to be trying to create as franchise.

This looks like it could be a lot of fun, if it's going to focus more on the action/adventure gameplay. I think it's cool that Squeenix is going outside of their little box a bit and making a style of game that normally they don't. Nothing wrong with a few Zelda clones imo, since Zelda games are pretty much the best games ever.

(There are just first impressions. I, of course, realize that it doesn't fully represent the final prdect. This is just a disclaimer to prevent the "The game's not even out yet!" comments.)

"Pretty boy main character saves the world", again? Damnit.

Graphically, it reminded me of PSU, which is the best I can expect, I guess. Pretty for what it is.

I'm not sure what they're trying to do with this. I liked the simple chibi designs in the original and in Ring of Fates. I liked how there was no one main character. I guess that's not what the masses want...? I guess Ring of Fates is for those who liked the original and The Crystal Bearers is for everyone else.

I hope they at least keep Tanioka Kumi.
EDIT: A simple Google search reveals that Tanioka is composing.

Yay! Tanioka! Her pieces are so... soothing.
Anyways I'm agreeing with Kairi in that they really should try to keep the franchises connected better considering the art style does look a lot different. However, as a Final Fantasy game on its own, I'm really excited to see what they do with it.
Is anyone else hoping that the guy's arm with the purple ball thingy will be controlled by the Wiimote? That would be... tiziiiiight...

Nobody knows, but I'm guessing this will use Wii remotes. Maybe some extras for using a DS with Ring of Fates in it.

Even if it did use DSs, it's not like it's a big deal anymore with wireless and the fact that, like, every gamer ever has a DS now.

I actually kinda like the new look, that is the more realistic/mature character designs and such. Pretty excited for this, just hope multiplayer is actually playable without all the hassle of the other game (which I'm sure it will be..just needed to poke some fun at the last one).

The Graphic reminds me of Kingdom Hearts / Tales of the Abyss; which I like. I really look forward to this game.
