Ok. I've been avoiding this thread like the plague for the last three weeks to make my MGS4 experience the best it can be.
Question – I’m sure a lot of you know about the deal Wal-Mart has going on with their $100 gift card with the purchase of a Blu-Ray player (including all PS3’s), and I hear a lot of people saying that this does also include the 80gb MGS4 bundle, turning this bundle into probably one of the best deals ever. A lot of my friends plan on purchasing it, but they don’t know anything about it. Is Wal-Mart carrying & releasing the bundle tonight at midnight? Is the deal only available online? If we bring an ad to do price matching somewhere, will they match a deal like this? Sorry if this has been talked about before...it's just that when I try to research the topic, I get links to a bunch of little fags saying shit like "IT'S TRUE MY DAD WERKS THEIR AND SAYS I CAN GET IT.", and I want a little more confirmation. I can't even find the bundle on the Wal-Mart website... |

Here's the universal rule of metal gear: no one who should die actually does. Only the likeable characters get killed off.
And no, I doubt I'll even start the game till I'm finished with Experience 112. Both of my PS3s are on loan at friends, so I pined a debug from work so that I can play when I want to. I already installed it, so everything ready and all. Just need to plug the console in of course. Also I wish I had a Dual Shock for this but lol SCEE. And yes, there is an 8 minute install at the start of the game where you watch Snake smoke and little notes and health warnings appear on the screen. Once you clear a chapter, the game will install the next chapter, and wipe the previous one. Meaning if you want to play a previous save, from a previous chapter, you need to reinstall that chapter, over the current one, before you can play. I imagine this is the detail Konami didn't want magazines to talk about too much. |
Since my EB seems to be one of the few that isn't doing a midnight launch I'll be having to wait until tomorrow at 10am before I can get mine. ![]() ![]() |

EBgames has shipped all their overnight orders out so people could get it on street date (Provided you pre-ordered the game before today with overnight shipping). Dunno when I'll get mine tomorrow, but I just simply can't wait.

it does suck that you have to reinstall the chapters every time you play through the game (its kinda like changing disks lol).
it's too bad i can't play this game as early as I'd like because I have to work until 6 tomorrow. I hope I get an art book with the LE! |

Didn't think I'd go to the midnight launch, but one of my buddies REALLY wanted to go pick up the bundle at our Best Buy. There were about 20-25 people there, and my friend was the ONLY ONE who brought in a Wal-Mart ad and got a $100 gift card price match. Some people looked pretty pissed off...
Currently downloading the slow as all hell UPDATES FOR METAL GEAR: ONLINE. AGAIN. I guess I'll sleep while it downloads... |

I was just at my local Best Buy...and there was no one there. No one at all. I was the only one there, and im all "I guess im early". They didnt have the midnight opening, but they definitely have the machines with the game in. All I gotta do is get a flyer from walmart, and boom instant 100 giftcard. Maybe i'll get some other games, perhaps the ones that are cheap now like Vegas 1 and Timeshift.
