[Wii] Wario Land: Wiggle Waggle Biggle Baggle It!
Holy shit it's a 2D platformer on a Nintendo console. Possibly one with Wario in it. Hold the Wii Remote on its side, shake bags of money, tilt it to do things, award winning innovation and so forth. It looks fucking fun, unlike that DS platformer that was very unfun. Dr. Robotnik seems to be the bad guy, Captain Syrup from the earlier Wario Land's also returns. 16:9 merely adds junk to the sides of the screen. Developed by Good-Feel, their first ever game. Although it's being headed by an ex-Konami dude who worked on the Mystical Ninja games, so yeah! Production I.G's also doing animated cut scenes for it, you can watch the intro here~ ![]() ![]() More screens here, there. Somewhere. Due out in Japan this month, September for America and PAL regions (yes, they're actually releasing something in the same month as the US!) Between this and Mega Man 9, I am excited in the vagina. |

Captain Syrup makes a comeback. Her cult followers are going to freak.
Wario World was "meh" at best, and I haven't played Master of Disguise (mostly from hearing that it sucked). Hopefully, this game breaks the trend of mediocrity found in the more recent Wario platformers. I do like the cartoony style of the game already; it seems appropriate for a Wario-centric game. ![]() Backloggery -=- Because no one demanded it!

Those screens look good, but I don't think I've really enjoyed a Wario Land game since the very first one so I'm not going to hold out much hope for this one. Well, the Virtual Boy one was fun, but that was Virtual Boy. It'd be great if this actually turns out to be good, though.

Meh, it's a Wario game, of course I'll buy it, no matter how mediocre it is! I don't know why that's the case with Wario games and me. >_> Anywho, I've got high hopes for this one from a newbie developer. The game mechanics sound accessible and good enough to entertain me for at least a day, and the graphics look sweet in all their 2D glory.
Yeah, I'll be getting this one. |
|
Wow, A 2D platformer that is actually, truly 2D. I thought those were more or less extinct on the home consoles. Looking forward to this if the trailer is a good indication of gameplay.
Edit: For those that wisely skipped it, Master of disguise sucked. |
![]() ![]() SHAKE EVERYTHING |

So this is out in the US now, who has picked it up?
Also the real reason I bumped this thread was for this MOTHER FUCKING AWESOME COMMERCIAL! |
That's just enough for me to denote a purchase for this game. |
|
Oh my fuck. That's awesome. At first I didn't know what to say--the YouTube link isn't to a direct video. Then I started watching it.
I was like "Oh that's cool, the coins flew all over. And--HOLYSHIT WHAT'S GOING ON?" ![]() [edit] I just realized after watching it again that the falling pieces are movable. You can actually grab stuff and Shake It! around. [See what I did there?] |
|
>=| I just watched that commercial and thought my computer was suffering a seizure. I hooked it out of the power point, ran to the local computer shop barefoot, and pretty much threw it at the clerk. I told him that while I was watching a Wario youtube video, my computer went completely spaz. He lol'd and started shaking my computer while going "Nyah hah hah!". It was then that I realised--I left the computer store in quite an embarrassed daze.
Whoa must own this game~ |

That was one of the best advertisment ever. I really wasn't expecting all the stuff to fall apart. Brilliant use of flash.
So gonna get this game now, the gameplay looks fun already, but this ad just solidified my decision. |
|
I must admit, it looks cool. The Edge review left me luke warm, though... But it's a Wario game where he isn't that intolerable sod the Wario Ware games made him.
![]() What part of Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn didn't you understand? |
|
The game is exactly what you'd expect-- Wario Land on a console. This isn't the daunting and expansive platformer that Super Mario Galaxy is, but it's still classic Wario humor and gameplay. Pick it up if you won't be pissed that you can run through the main story in a day.
This game also uses the Achievement/Trophy-esque objective listings that Super Smash Bros. Brawl had.

Whoa, this actually turned out to be good? I'm both shocked and pleased. It would be nice if Wario Land games stopped being synonymous with crap. I'm not in a hurry to pick it up since it's apparently very short, but sometime in the future I'll SHAKE EVERYTHING.
