Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz for the Nintendo Wii. I’ve been addicted to it ever since. The Wiimote really adds extra fun to the game. The mini games are fantastic for four players, too. Probably the best multiplayer game currently out for the Wii.

So I get into Walmart today, and find Splinter Cell, SC: Pandora Tomorrow, and SC: Chaos Theory, all 3 brand new at bargain prices.

So I grabbed all 3 for less than 60 dls (believe me, with game prices in Mexico, that's a massive steal).

Whoo. First new purchase post of the year... Three days later <_<

Anyway...

Karaoke Revolution presents American Idol (PS2) - I'm a sucker for the series. I didn't get the country one, but I wanted this one. I got the deluxe edition with the mike since I needed a second one anyway. The idea of this one is really nice and the deluxe box is shiny as hell too. >.<

Oh wow, I didn't even know there was another Karaoke Revolution coming out. I just checked the website, and it looks like it has some pretty good songs on there too. If I do get this, I'll probably just get the regular version, since I already have two microphones (well, a microphone and a headset, but same difference).

That was my situation, but my headset sucked. <_<

There's a total of 40 songs. The vast majority of them I know, and the competition part itself is actually pretty good. Although the judges tend to repeat a lot of comments. They have some stand-in for Paula Abdul named Laura, but Simon and Randy are there for judging.

Like in reality, Simon will no got easy on you. He hasn't for me so far. And i'm in the top 10 already. T_T

But they still have the normal mode available, which is always a good thing.

So it's actually setup like the show, where you have to audition and stuff? Wow, that makes it sound even better. I definitely may have to get this sometime soon.

Is the microphone any different for this game than it is for the other games? My headset still works fine (I got the Logitech set that was sold seperatly from any game), but if it's different enough in this game I'd be willing to spring for the deluxe version.

This may be a technical loophole, but I paid for Phoenix Wright: And Justice For All in full on a preorder today. Also, my sister got my niece the 'wrong' Yoshi's Island for Christmas, so for about half of what she paid she'll be giving me the Super Mario Advance 3 cart later this week.

Speaking of Christmas, this is a bit belated, but I had my biggest haul ever this year:

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin with Preorder Bonus - Alas, this one'll have to wait until I wrap up Dawn of Sorrow...
Chu Chu Rocket (GBA) - Haven't tried Stage Challenge properly, but Puzzle Mode is slowly taking over my life.
Final Fantasy X-2 - A copy of my own, I suspect from my sister so she could get her copy back. I should restart this one; it's been too long since I played.
Final Fantasy XII: Ordinary Edition - Sticking through the early hours, which everyone to a man says are the worst part of the game. Considering I actually fell asleep playing it last night, I can only hope it perks up soon.
Ico - Not very far, but enjoying it. As a side note, love seats in an ancient castle really don't work visually.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess with Wii - The big WOW. Snatched the component cables and WiFi Connecter the next day, and when my vacation starts this coming Friday, I'm going to feed.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Finally, my own copy. Maybe I can finish it now.
Metal Gear Trilogy Remix - Basically I mean I got Twin Snakes, Substance, and Subsistence all in one go. I had intended to start with Snakes and move forward, but I just can't handle the GC controls yet. Maybe I'll go in reverse.
Musashi Samurai Legend - Likable enough, but not really polished at all. Call it the empty-calorie action-RPG. The intro's fun to watch, at least.
Sega Genesis Collection - Could the game selection be a little better? Absolutely (would anyone take the Genesis Virtua Fighter 2 over Toejam & Earl or Streets of Rage?), but it's still the best compilation title ever published. And thank God the unlocking isn't as annoying or obtuse as it was in the Sonic Collections.

So, I'll be pretty busy for the next (few) month(s).
DAMN good coffee!

Got my order of Darkstar One today. Not managed to get to play it yet though. It looked pretty good, and was on deal so I couldn't resist. Besides I figured it was about time I saw about getting a new game, I've not bought one in ages.

I got this for free, that's less than the price of paying for it! The store I got my Wii from promised a free copy of GT Pro upon launch just for pre-ordering there with a special store card (which was free to apply for so why not.. also apparently if you spend something like eight hundred thousand dollars they'll send you a gift card worth five bucks). And well, I never got GT Pro. There's a rich, detailed history of script drama that followed. I won't type it here because that'd spoil things, please look out for the film in cinemas soon! And yesterday I got to choose a game of my choice. Mostly everything was sold out, so it was either this, Open Season, Spongebob or Need for Speed.

This is something I would have bought eventually though, coz PINBALL NEEEERD. <3 It's an updated port from the PS2/PSP one (also released in America under the name 'Pinball Hall of Fame') but with much sharper textures and improved ball physics.. because they were shit in the PS2 one. B button on the Wii Mote is the right flipper, Z on the Nunchuck is the left flipper. So yeah, you've gotta use both to play, there's no other control options. But it WORKS! Taking the PINBALL NEEEERD to the extreme, if you stand up and hold both of the controllers right, it's sorta like an actual pinball machine. A floating invisible one!

Also at a time when I really shouldn't be spending what little money I have, I've spent what little money I have.

One of the pawn shops in the area is pretty well known for selling stolen shit, and when video game related stuff pops up you've gotta be quick. Quick like Nesquick! I caught these Pokemon, the three of them combined cost roughly half of what Dead Rising is just by itself in EB. Now all I need is an Xbox 360, because that'd probably be helpful! WAITIN' ON THAT PRICE DROP MICROSOFT... (or for a stolen one to show up tee hee giggle giggle burlap sack).

Got a PS3 for Christmas which I am enjoying, exchanged the games selected for me (Genji, Untold Legends) for Resistance, a preorder of Heavenly Sword, and $55 Gamestop credit! Yes!

Also, I just bought a DSlite on eBay for about $10 more than in a store, including tax. It's a pretty good deal for a sold out item, I'd say.

Now I just need some PS3 accessories and a Wii. Both are sold out. Everywhere.

Funny thing is that in a Walmart near me has all 3 systems (60 gig PS3 too!).

I am just suprised how long the Wii has been there (a few days).

I wish I lived near that Wal-Mart. I'd go get that Wii in a heartbeat.

Anyway, my roommate got me Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC) for Christmas, so I was playing that obsessively until I decided to go to Gamestop. I got him his gift (Mario Kart DS, I couldn't believe he didn't have it) and picked up possibly the most addicting GBA game ever:

Yggdra Union - We'll Never Fight Alone -. I remember seeing the art for this awhile back and thinking "Hey, that looks pretty neat." Then I realized it came out when I was broke, so I used a gift card to get it and holy crap. One of my favorite SRPGs now.

I'd kill to get a Wii also. Had my chance, but I was in school and about a half hour away from the Target my friend told me about. T_T

I was close to getting one even though I was in school. My friend would've bought one for me if he had the money, and I would've just had to pay him back for whatever he bought it for. Problem was that he was short on money and couldn't find his little brother's Christmas money stash. So my luck ran out... Again...

And Yggdra Union looks like a really good game... I was thinking about picking it up... What's it about anyway?

Thus far it's about rebuilding a kingdom overthrown by an evil empire, but I'm only about 5 hours in, so that could change. Nothing groundbreaking so far in terms of plot, but the gameplay itself is neat. It works differently than most SRPGs in that when you attack, and the view changes to the attack view, you don't control the characters in the battle directly, but you can control how they attack. They can hold back, building up a power bar, or attack aggressively, using that power bar.

The graphics, as far as GBA games go, are really nice. Characters are animated well, and skill/spell effects look awesome. The soundtrack is excellent, too.

Picked up Portrait of Ruin about a week ago. Enjoying it far more than I did Aria of Sorrow, as it got away from Soma's universe for a little bit and jumped back into the past. Beat it 1000%, like most of the newer Castlevania games, it isn't hard unless you do level 1 runs. The whole two-character system probably could have been implemented better, seeing as I only used it when I needed to. No Symphony of the Night, but it's still extremely fun.

And everyone on WiFi sucks. =(

I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance, for the PS2, for Christmas. The game's pretty cool, love the character roster (playable Iron Man, yes!). Heh, though the graphics definitely look inferior to the next gen versions. Actually, it seems like they half assed it, as some of the CG movies look like crap, though I can't really blame them as the game was really meant as a next gen title. In fact, I kinda wish I didn't get this for Christmas, as I was planning to purchase this with either Xbox360 or PS3 when I had income for either one (all 3 next gen consoles will eventually be purchased). Haven't played it much though, as my purchase of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (mentioned below) has a tight hold on me right now.

Also I purchased Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 about a week or 2 ago, and it rocks! Man, it's been a very long time since I've last played a Dragon Ball game (maybe 7 years or so, whenever DBGT Final Bout hit) and I was extremely pleased. Love how they loaded it with as many characters as they could from the series, as well as the movies (especially the movies, considering I grew up watching those, the older ones from the 90s anyway).

Probably would haven't even bothered picking it up if I hadn't checked out the vids and screens IGN had floating around (I definitely would have overlooked this, if the review wasn't topic of the page). The second I saw that you could actually transform into Super Saiyan I was sold (as opposed to Final Bout, where Super Saiyan forms were actually seperate characters). The addition of characters from the movies such as Brolly, Android 13, Bojack, and Tapion sealed it for me. Inclusion of the Japanese audio track was a sweet addition too. Dragon Adventure is great too, love how you play through the series story (even though it's kinda half asse
