[General Discussion] Recent Game Purchases, or what I bought instead of fourteen new dildos this weekend

Name/list games you have bought recently, maybe during GFF's downtime.

I bought Geist for GC, but am yet to play it. Also I was given Wario Ware: Twisted for GBA by a friend. So far, it's my favourite Wario Ware.

Note:
To prevent spam posts, you must elaborate on your purchases. Don't just tell what you bought, You should explain why you bought it, where, when, how and any other interesting stories you might have about the game or the purchase itself.

If your purchase has no interesting stories to tell, don't post. If your post consists merely of what you bought, it will be deleted.

I was at a game store the other day and found Final Fantasy Dawn of souls for the GBA for 10 dollars! I just couldn't let that pass me by no matter how many times I've killed the games before. I'm currently playing through final fantasy one at the moment.
Can I borrow a feeling?

I recently got DMC3:SE and am not regretting the purchase at all. Reminds me why I loved DMC in the first place. That and it was only $20.

My last purchase was Bucky O'Hare for the NES on ebay. I've got quite a backlog of games at the moment, but I know I'll have to pick up Tetris DS, and Katamari and Megaman Powered Up for the PSP this month.

Last month, when Gamestop was having their "Buy 2, get 1 Free Sale" and 3 stores were in biting reach, I did the following:

1. Went to Gamestop #1 and was just glad to see Dynasty Warriors 5 (Xbox) dropped to $25 used. Got that, Burnout 3 and Wario World.
2. Went to Gamestop #2 and found a used Suikoden Tactics, which had just dropped to about $25 used. Got Samurai Warriors and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe with it.
3. Went to Gamestop #3 and scored Stella Deus, Makai Kingdom and Radiata Stories all used, with one free and recent price drops on all of them by about $15-$20 each.

Total cost for playing catch-up from the past year: $130. Which is awesome, considering I'd been waiting for the sale to come around and wasn't even counting on the price drops (and frankly, wasn't expecting to find Suikoden, Stella or Radiata used). Just great timing. Only thing I didn't find that was on the shopping list was a used Wild Arms 4...That'll probably change by next sale though.

Think I'm set for the next year...I've only touched Dynasty Warriors 5 (beat it once with Sun Shang, going to try to win with the new Shu girl this time), Stella Deus (seems decent, but potentially very cheap) and Monkey Ball (fun!) so far.

Not too long after the forum crashed, I went on ebay and spent about $90 on a PS2 copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. I have the DC version (also bought on ebay), but I loaned my DC to a friend, and besides, I have an arcade stick for my PS2. Hopefully, I can work on my skills on the game within the next 2 weeks to be prepped for Texas Showdown.

I also scored Sonic Riders this past weekend for PS2. It reminds me slightly of Kinetica, only you can't do tricks while on the ground, and there's no auto-boost spots on the track. The overall gameplay is fine, graphics are sweet, and the music is intense!! Just wish the AI wouldn't be so difficult at times.

I bought God of War yesterday for 20$. TOTALLY AWESOME. I've been waiting a long time to play this game and it totally lives up all my expectation.
Currently Playing: Kingdom Heart II

During GFF's downtime, I got Sims 2 Open For Business. Before that, I got BF2: Special Forces. Granted, none of them are base games, so I guess you can say the most recent game I got is Silkroad Online, which is free and downloadable. I just got it today.

Available for BRAWL every weekend.

W00t! Hear this: My local game store had 2 brand new copies of Gitaroo Man, so I snagged one and beat that deceptively hard game. Moving around the analog stick to sync with the trace line is actually a lot harder than it seems, since most people tend to be thrown off by the autolock feature, if they are slightly off angle initially. I think I spoiled it for myself by listening to the OST so much before ever playing the game.

I also just bought Lumines which reminds me intensely of Meteos. Less cute, more music action, less motivation, larger playfield. Considering I traded in Meteos a while ago, I love the music and sound effects in Lumines a lot.

Finally, I'm like the last person ever to get Xenogears. At first I was literally frozen when I saw the incredibly dated and ugly graphics. I could tolerate FF VII but you'd figure that someone wouldn't be a fanboy over Xenogears and make a comment about that, all I saw were rave reviews...The battle system is lots of fun, and anime cutscenes are all right. I don't regret getting it.

I haven't really had a chance to buy many games these last several months, but in the last month went out and lost it. So far the following have arrived:

Black (XBOX)
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon (XBOX)
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The (XBOX)
Gun (PS2)
Killzone (PS2)
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The (GC)
Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, The (GC)
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (GC)
Spider-Man: The Movie (GC)
Super Mario Sunshine (GC)
Tales of Symphonia (GC)
Tron 2.0 (XBOX)

As for the reason that I bought these, well, I got them all super cheap. Less than $150 for the whole lot, brand new. Didn't really know what to expect from them either...

So far, I have only played a little of each, but all were good choices. Though I must admit, Morrowind seems a bit odd to me. Probably should check if there's a third-person mode. Weird, I love First-person in almost all circumstances, but just can't get used to it in a RPG!

BTW, anyone like Darkwatch? I notice you can get it for $17.99 currently at Buy.com, the cheapest I have found it. Since, I have wanted to get it since before it was released, plan on buying that next week. Definitely got a kick out of the demos at least.

Now, if only God of War could be found at such a price...

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, still haven't even opened it. But the price was such a friggin steal (only $10!), I just couldn't resist.

Capcom Fighting Evolution for $40, I was seduced into buying the game for the artwork Udon had done for the game (cover and endings), thanks in part to their spectacular work on the SF comics. Though, I kinda regret buying this one as the cast (and the bonuses) for the game were a little weak. Man, I should have shopped around a bit, as I'm sure I could have gotten it for cheaper. Oh well, my loss.

Bust-a-Move DS.

The boxart is pretty homosexual but the game wins. The touch screen is how Bust-a-Move was always meant to be played.

DAMNIT! Both my threads were stolen from me and recreated! Gah. ; ;

Oh well. I have a ton of stuff to list. Recent PSP purchases -- Megaman Maverick Hunter X, Ys: Ark of Napishtim, and Generation of Chaos. Picked up demos for Pursuit Force and Daxter. PS2 purchases -- Tales of Legendia, Grandia 3, the guides for both, and Black. PC purchase -- Grabbed Fable, finally, and am totally addicted to it.

I've got a bunch of pre-orders too, but I have to go print out my list at work. I've forgotten them all. I know Twilight Princess is on there, and so is Okami and both DVD and UMD versions of Advent Children. I've got Rise of Legends for the PC, Daxter and Megaman Powered Up for the PSP also pre-ordered. Actually, that might be it.

Been looking for some older cheap games on eBay lately just because I've completed all the ones I have and don't really want to spend a lot on new games when there isn't anything out right now that I'd particularly want to buy. I got Onimusha for 99p last week which isn't a bad deal at all, even if I did complete it in 4 days. Now I've bought Onimusha 2 for under £2 and that should be here sometime in the next couple of days. I think it's pretty cool even if the controls are a bit weird (no analog, left/right turn you instead of sidestep) but I got used to it fine.
