Hudson can die. Oh, and Microsoft can too for letting this garbage play on their system.

Flame me if you want, but I think the new look is...interesting. It reminds me of Samus, in a way.
It was spectacular.

Blech. I thought we were starting to get out of that phase where ever new release had to be updated to take advantage of newer graphics capabilities whether it was the graphics that a game previously rode on or not. Bomberman is supposed to be some goofy-looking little dude who lays bombs, not a god damn sinister robotic killing machine.

As an aside, who's bright idea was it to let that guy do the narration? His half-lisp stereotypical gay voice was ridiculous enough, especially in contrast to the impressive and intimidating graphics, to ensure I'll probably never be able to take that game seriously. All I'll be able to picture is this predator robot walking around wishing me a thuper day.

The exhausted Barrier Trio struck one final Barrier Pose!

I won't flame you for not hating the look, but Samus???? Haha, looks a lot more like something out of Bionicle to me. I just don't know if I could ever bring myself to play this game, even if it is good (and I love bomberman). From the few screens I've seen, looks a lot like classic play, but there is supposedly also a first person view that sounds really shitty personally. Right now, I'm just praying that this doesn't spread to the OTHER Bomberman games. There is a second DS Bomberman coming out that will be online, and if this is Bombermans future....

How do you know it's garbage if you haven't played it yet? Looks like classic Bomberman gameplay with new graphics to me. The voice from that clip was hilariously stupid though, sounds like they picked up the voice actors from the original Resident Evil for the game. Oh, and there is no first person mode from what I hear. If you look at the screenshots in those scans under the "first person bommer" area, you'll see that they're actually just zoomed in third person screenshots. Sounds more like a mistranslation or an intentionally misleading statement to grab your attention.

It will be weird playing a Bomberman game without the chibified cartoony Bomberman character, but eh, I'm not overly attached to the character so personally it doesn't make a big difference to me.

Classic Bomberman gameplay?! Most likely not.

This is most likely going to be a serious game that somehow has bombs in it.

It probably won't be anything like the original bomberman. It seems to me more like a Bomb-Themed Halo >_>

Yeah, I remember seeing screens of a grid like battlefield and explosions following only the rows/columns- which looked like Bomberman gameplay. Look, if he drops bombs, and he still gets killed with a single bomb, I'd call him Bomberman. A new look shouldn't bother people, geez, the original box art looked nothing like the to-be-replaced Bomberman.

It may have all the classic gameplay, but it sure as hell looks boring. I hope it's not just limited to depressing factory levels or something. Will they replace the Kangaroos with vomiting prostitutes? Just chuck Saturn Bomberman into the Live Arcade already.

O_O Why would they change bomberman like that, just to give the same isometric battle field?

It might look more realistic but it looks more dull and boring.

Instead of the cute bomberman with a "cutesy" storyline, we'll most likely get a tough bomberman with a generic dark storyline.

I'll probably wait for some reviews to come out before I even consider purchasing the game.

The new Bomberman looks very badass and I don't care what anyone says about Hudson alienating its fanbase as they've done it a long time ago with charaboms and replacing black bomberman with Max. The game will probably suck since they're going back to the grid based battlefields but you never know, they might do something right for once in every other console generation.

I can't wait to hear the soundtrack, its been a while since a major Bomberman title was released and if I'm correct this new game will probably have a dark techno style soundtrack which I think would be very interesting to hear from the traditional Bomberman series composers (here's hoping Jun Chiki Chikuma does the score).

Now that you mention it, I feel it might go in the same direction as Shadow the Hedgehog did..

I think the gameplay is too crazy to have a serious story like that.

He's running around in Grids! I just don't think you can make a serious GOOD storyline with that type of gameplay. I'm curious to see exactly how he looks when he walks.

It may be just crazy enough to work. It's better then the Power Rangers thing they did for the PSP, and it also could be a lot worse:

If they were really serious, they'd have put Pretty Bomber on the cover, wearing a bikini, perhaps digging love hearts into her arm with a knife.

I think all of this is just an elaborate hoax. They're just showing us this new Bomberman Redux now, but in the final game, we only play as him for the first eighth of the game before he's killed by the Bomberman we all know and love.
