1990 World of Nintendo Catalogue 1990

The first link is the actual scans of the original catalog (which are funny enough), but the second link is the riotous invention of a very skilled photoshopper and witty copy writer.

Have fun!

Old, but still funny. Note: hats do not leave comet trails.

Also, the Mario pillow is awesome. I never saw that one before.

I don't know if I am happy or saddened to recognize many of those things as being in my room as I was growing up. I have no clue what happened to any of them either.

Added a pic to Page 7 of the first link that's worth a view.

Oh, now I see this is an attempt to try to be funny. I didn't read any description but the Power Glove one, and I figured that was just how they said it (you know, considering The Wizard and all).

Okay, not funny, still good to see the actual products though.

I can recognize a few of the items, and some I have to jog my memory. Of course at this time I was 6 years old, so I may have seen some of the lunch boxes/food related items at school with other "cool kids" bring them. All I had was just a red lunch box with "Thermos" written on one side.

I don't think it was a dance pad but basically more of a foot controller for skate board like games. I saw this once at a friends house, but didn't dare try it out.

oh man, the NES Max controller... I remember wanting one of those really bad. I sorta have one now, in the form of a Playstation controller

I actually had a Super Mario Bros lunchbox like that in school...

Man, I remember all that shit. How sad is that.

I suppose this bizarre merchandise has never reached European shores.

I had never seen such items in my youth. Actually, in Italy, it was a blessing from the gods when certain games were published, so I'm not surprised about the lack of correlated shirts and pads.

Though I admit they look rather queer.

Oh . . . young ones. It was used for Track and Field on the NES, and a small assortment of related, somewhat athletic, games. Classic!

Still, I've heard rumors of a company making games for the NES again just for kicks, and one of them featured the Power Pad for a dance game. It'd be pretty damn hilarious.

I DEMAND PICTURES OF ROBBIE THE ROBOT =OOO

Ohh man ;D Memories. Damn I feel old. I collected Nintendo Power magazines as well, to boot. Still got the original somewhere in semi-mint condition. I take good care of me bookses.

Not a dance pad. It was before your time, tyke =d It was used for lotsa games that revolved around, like, olympic events. Long jump. I remember this one that involved running in place, and jumping. A trick you could do was hop OFF the mat and your guy would keep on going until you landed ;D Ahahaha.

I miss Legacy of the Wizard & Clash at Demonhead all over again ;_; I should play.

WHY ISN'T THERE A THREAD FOR NINTENDO DISCUSSION

Meh. Whatever.

Always wanted that Zelda II T-Shirt.

I actually do have the Power Pad...I bought it and a copy of Short Order/Eggsplode from the "old" Gamestop (Funcoland) about 10 years ago dirt cheap. Fun stuff, actually...Worst thing was trying to get it set up in my room.

Still have a Super Mario Bros. bath towel (impressive how long it's stayed together and the design has stayed on) and a Super Mario Bros. sleeping bag (too small for me now, but comfy to sleep on top of), both of which came out of a NP catalogue (an earlier one than this, IIRC).
I'm taking over this town...
I'm screaming for vengenace...
I'm shouting at the devil...
I'm not dead and I'm not for sale...
Ain't lookin' for nothin' but a good time...

hahahaha. While most of it tried too hard to be funny, a few of the captions here and there were great.
