Default margins are 1 on top and bottom and 1.25 on the sides.

Also please refrain from saying when you get the prompt.

Just a tickler, guys. The first voting threads go up tomorrow, right Dekoa?

Also, I seem to remember last time there was some discussion over whether or not some people wanted their stories proofread and edited by Dekoa. For the record, I don't want mine messed with! Any grammar or spelling errors I make are probably intentional, since I proofread everything like a zillion times.

Oh, and still waiting for prompt over here. Shouldn't everyone have received theirs by now?

I still have about 5 prompts to send out. I've been sending one out each day.

Also, In lieu of last year "I WILL NOT PROOF OR EDIT A STORY IN ANY WAY" I was to busy to do it last year.

I sneer at anyone who wants their stories proofread and edited. I sneer in a rather pompous manner, actually. The story should be written with your own talent and skill alone, and maybe your word processor's spellchecker

I think I'm most excited about reading Speculative's, Alice's, Dark Nation's, Crash's, and Vivi's stories.

Wow! I made your lis!

I do have one other question, Dekoa. I just looked at the brackets again and noticed something strange with the bracket containing Lady Jedi, Crash Landon and Moth. Why are Crash and Moth paired up against Lady Jedi? Are they co-writing the first story or something?

I think that since we have an odd-numbered amount of players, Moth is automatically advancing from the first round, possibly for winning last year. If you'll notice, the winner of the Crash/Jedi pairing faces Moth in Round 2.

Oh, OK. That makes sense. I'll bet Moth hates that, though.

Oh, I didn't say, I just started writing a paper on philosophy for a scholarship.
They said the same thing about default margins, so I thought I may as well ask you.

Okay, okay, so I'll... uh... I'll try to be excited for your story too. Go, agreatguy6, you are a great guy! 6!
If you say you are good, I will take your word for it and be excited about reading your story. I'm actually excited about everyone's, but just moreso those people I named specifically.

You know, in light of Round 1 already kinda falling through, if you need another man to make up for an odd number of contestants, or if you need a pinch hitter for someone that decides they can't participate after all, I'd be willing to offer my services.

I'm sure Ozma could do the same. This doesn't have to be a 'no nubz allowed' treehouse club.

Yeah but there was another person that wanted to join after the brackets were made. Technically he would have priority because of that. I don't know what to do right now.

Well it's nothing pressing. You can give people priority if you want, or you can just draw the line and say sign-ups are sign-ups. I'm just tossing ideas out.

How did Round 1 already fall through? Did someone not submit a story or something? And I guess this means that the first stories are not going up today.

It says you won't proofread the stories, but will you be checking to make sure the story doesn't exceed 2500 words?

Honestly, 2500 seems pretty small. I would've been happy with 3,000, but it's too late to bring that up now. My last journal entry alone went up to 1,206. I'm not saying I won't be able to come up with something, but I've noticed that I'm the kind of guy who likes to write with intricate detail (lotsa words).

I will be checking to see if they are within the 2500 limit.

I made the 2500 word limit to not only hinder you a little bit but also help you. You see, I wanted to have minimal restrictions. I thought that 2500 is enough to get the juices flowing well and get a good story out. I also made it so that it won't be a beligerent amount of words for the voters. Suffice to say, it's a nice stopping point for writers and the Readers. I could say that there would be no limit, but then they are just going to start reading it and says it goes on forever so they'll just vote for the shorter one.

Most short stories I've read are 2,000 words or under. Thankfully, not 2,000 CHARACTERS. That would suck butt.
