I have a suggestion. Could you possibly make a "losers" poll where you list everyone who didn't win this round and we can go back and re-read their stories and vote for the one we think most deserved to go on to the next round?

And if everyone likes this idea, I move that we go ahead and end all Round 1 voting polls now so we can move on with this. It looks like the polls that are still open are pretty much done deals, anyway.

As far as the loser's poll is concerned, i have no problems with it. I'll bring it up with Dekoa next time i talk with him.

I know that i personally am not done reading all the stories, and voting, and i'm still waiting for Dekoa to finish the prompts and send them to me, so if we closed to the voting we'd still be waiting anyways.

Since I'm organizing the loser's bracket, I'd be more than happy to organize the "loser's poll" too. I'm not worried about it muddying up the "loser's bracket" either, since we're not doing that until after WotW is over. So if everyone's okay with it, I'll volunteer to assemble the poll, unless someone else wants to do it.

Instead of having Stop Sign face off against QuarX/Helloween, may I recommend that Alice/Dekoa face off against QuarX/Helloween, and that Stop Sign be seeded against Moth?

Here's a proposed seeding structure (for a 3-way Final, to determine #3 without having a loser's bracket, and every winner has to write four times.)

New Seeding:

The only disadvantage I can see to doing it that was is that it would put us behind a week while we wait for Moth to write his story, and then that voting round wouldn't be very anonymous. I'm fine with either the losers' poll or the new seeding, though.

Unfortunately, yes, it's a trade-off between time and anonymity. It's possible to completely eliminate the time delay, i.e. put Stop Sign as a third contestant in any of the second round seeds. But at a sacrifice of anonymity, since that particular pairing would be very obvious.

Alternatively, it's possible to schedule Moth vs. Stop Sign simultaneously with Round 2, and to schedule Crash vs. Moth/Stop Sign last, but it would involve more time. After all, it's hardly fair for Moth or Stop Sign to write on compressed schedules - you can't expect turn creativity on like a tap. Even moreso for Stop Sign, who has an entry, but was unfortunately late by a few hours.

Any thoughts, guys?

Well, We could sacrifice all anomnyty and ask Moth to do the same prompt that SS did. I think that Moth would be able to do it and that it would be great, however, it is still a pressure push on Moth and I would prefer for that not to happen.

Additional Spam:
I've got it! Zergrinch could you possibly put another bracket in between the semifinalist that is on Crash's and SS/Moth's side and the Finalist? That way, we can have someone a winner decided on the upper brackets and that gives us the time to work in the SS/Moth fight.

That would result in a BYE for the winner of Servilonus/SOLDIER, doesn't it? (Am I understanding you correctly?)

Ok, i'd like to start sending out the prompts ASAP, so is there something in this mess (that i really don't understand at the moment) that would prevent me from doing so?

Yes, the pairings. You were slated to go against Stop Sign, while Alice gets a bye because Chaotic pulled out. In my proposed seeding, I have Stop Sign going against Moth (late round 1), the winner going against Crash Landon, while Alice is going up against you.

All other pairings, namely Zergrinch vs. orion_mk3, Servilonus vs. SOLDIER, Speculative vs. agreatguy6, and Admiral Amara vs. Acro-nym, are still good to go.

So wait, what now? Who's going when?

Am I up this week? seriously? I call bullshit. See, my spring break starts in... now, and in maybe four hours I'm going to be on a week long road-trip. In a car. On a road. With no internet. And I have to spend that week writing up articles for real-world people who will flog me if I don't meet deadlines.

Week after that, naturally, I'll have more time on my hands then I'll know what to do with.
Until it arrives...

It sounds a bit unfair to suddenly reposition the brackets well after the contest has started. Yes, he got a bye. Yes, I stand to get a bye if I happen to defeat Moth. But this is really secondary to the issue.

As per Moth's post, this is an abrupt change, one he's not able to handle now. Rightly, he'd been working under the knowledge that he would be able to rest through Round One. If he's suddenly made to submit a story, or else face disqualification, at this point, I'd have to agree that it'd be pretty bullshit.

I was cool with Kazyl dropping and Stop Sign taking the space over. If Kazyl isn't comfortable with continuing, then don't force him for the sake of occupying a bracket slot.

Alternately, there could be a consolation entry into Round Two: whichever story received the most votes but still lost, that person could be granted a second chance and be made to face Stop Sign in Round Two. Technically, both were already eliminated, so it'd make sense for them to meet head-to-head.
In the event that there's a tie over which losing story got the most votes, then a re-vote could be done for a few days.

Yeah, that's sort of what I was going for with my "loser's poll" idea. Can we just decide something and move on, please?

While I may have my own opinions about the matter, I do agree that we need to move on. Make a ruling, Dekoa, and I'll go along with it.

I've been hesitating to say anything, because I haven't had much input regarding this, either way, so I didn't want to make a useless post.

I will say, though, that I'm interested in knowing when I'm up. I might be somewhat busy the week of the 19th, but I'll still be able to take part, because I will have a couple of nights to myself. I'm just rather hoping it'll be later than that, if it happens that week, I won't be able to concentrate on it as much as I'd like.

So can I assume that the stories are going to be staggered again this round? And if so, at what point will they stop being staggered?
