Well, if the bandwagon is going to shift to Smelnick, I might as well go that route too. No sense in getting on one of Zerg's lists if he doesn't even get killed because of it. I always thought of myself as a sensible person.

Changing my vote from Zergrinch to Smelnick.

Everyone is leaving Zergrinch and going for me. I'm changing my vote to Zergrinch again because now I hate him.

The real truth of the issue here is that everyone fears the Zergrudge.

Ok. I haven't forgotten this. I am, however, fighting back unconsciousness, so I need to go to sleep. I'll tabulate votes in the morning, then announce the lynching.

Does that mean voting is closed or can changes still be made? I'm just asking since I remember having trouble with that once in my game, though that was because of my "once all votes are in, voting's done" policy, but I don't think anyone else uses that. I'd rather know even if it never matters than have bad things happen because of this.

EDIT: Ok, just checked in the "Day 1" post and it's past the deadline, so that answers that question.

The only reason I voted for him in the first place is that I fear the Zergrudge still on me from the last game.

Nuh uh, YOU need to get your eyes checked! I said the guys on my grudge list died - not that I was necessarily the dude that did it!

Who was on the LIST, and what happened to them?

Chapter Two: Cause he's the Taxman!

Quote:
The halfhearted calls of animals in the wild conceded their efforts to the familiar, oppressive clapping of horse's hooves along the trodden pathway. Sitting gallant upon a tall, mottled steed, a stern soldier, covered in gleaming riding armor and a pennant bearing a basilisk's eye upon a single turret - the royal emblem of King Atrox - callously made his way to the center of the small village. In his tow were three similarly clad guards, each upon a smaller but equally noble mount.

The surly collector squinted, spat something thick and disgusting from his mouth, then sneered as he addressed the reluctantly gathering crowd.

"Let us dispense with the trite greetings, peasants. Stand before me now and display your tributes to the generous King Atrox whose benevolence grants you air to breathe where crueller kings would choke you with no second thought. What have you to thank your King for his continued favor?"

"You have taken everything. Our lifeblood, our legacies, even our hopes. We've nothing left to give.", RockgamerXIII pleaded.

Nothing at all? What sort of preposterousness be this?!"

"He speaks only the truth", Domino added sheepishly. "We have nothing but the clothing upon our backs. Do you bid to rob us of this too?"

The guard spat again. "King Atrox does not want your pitiful rags! You despoil his honor by merely suggesting at such!

Let it be known, foul peasants, that if you cannot produce a proper and worthy tithe in ten minutes time, then one of you shall be hauled away and mercilessly slain! Your workloads will be harder and your days will be longer for it. Do not blame me or King Atrox, for it will have been your collective apathies that levied your fate. Consider it just punishment for failing to abide by a most reasonable edict."

The crowd was repulsed, but each assembled villager knew that the sacrifice of one body was worth any food or precious items that could be kept. With luck, the slain would be a foul terror of the night that never returned to cast its deathly gloom again.

Stones were cast at each others' feet. The sacrificial lamb's eyes grew wide, not expecting the treachery so soon. He'd been outspoken and promised to exact several aged vendettas, but to his surprise, he'd been taken seriously.
Knowing that no recourse could be found, he stood and walked to the taxmen.

"Take me and slay me. I would give nothing to the usurper king. I would rather die than make a crooked man richer."

The knighted cronies smiled with a sickening joy. The sacrifice was seized by his tunic and dragged into the thick woods. Moments later, the villagers could hear the din of gauntlets against flesh and the horrific, wet sound of forged metal piercing a human breastbone.

He'd gone proudly and in defiance of a tyrant. Some, reeling in the noise carried along the wind, wondered if they'd sent the wrong man to his death.

Spoiler:
Smelnick, the Mason, is lynched.

Zergrinch almost bought the farm, but let this demonstrate that the newfound powers of the Masons can clearly make or break a vote.

NIGHT TWO BEGINS!

I confess to letting these results slide an extra day. Otherwise, the next deadline would've been Saturday night, and that's a bad night for me to have to do this. I'm going to a wedding reception, then have to be at work by 7:30AM the following day. So sleep will be at a premium.

Thus, the Night Two deadline is Sunday, August 19th at 11:59 PM EDT. All active Night roles should PM me with their actions. Vigilantes may now strike!

Happy Hunting.

Wait, so the Masons preferred to get rid of Smelnick, a fellow Mason, than risk lynching Zerg? Haha, he's reached a Dekoa level of liability.

See, this is your problem. You have absolutely no idea how your past actions have incriminated you, and if you can't grasp that then there's little chance you're going to be able to correct your behavior, and you're going to keep dieing. Even your own teammates appear to have voted for you. Are you really that oblivious to the implications of these events?
