GFF is a hellhole full of elitists who chat about everything EXCEPT games. We have a team of dedicated moderators who will ban your ass on the slightest provocation, constant member-organized activities that you are not allowed to participate in, and plenty of custom features, including our unique journal system where you can post entries that will be completely ignored. If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ or our GFWiki. You will have to register before you can post. Although membership is completely free (and gets rid of the pesky advertisement unit underneath this message) we do not recommend that you sign up, because you will get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

The Guru argument makes more sense than lynching whichever random person happened to come along late. It makes logical sense that any squad would protect its most valuable players - here, either a Soldier or an Intelligence Officer. If the attack against Guru failed, then he's probably something his squad feels is worth protecting, and that makes him a threat to all other squads.

If his team wanted to protect him, then that means he must be useful. It could have been a bluff, but I can't see that strategy being used this early in the game. I'm changing my vote to Guru.

Yea, I realized that, Griffin.
I was going to vote for you as a joke, but I guess everyone here beat me to the bunch! ![]() Observant Provisions | [adult swim] "Dude, this is gonna.. Man, this is gonna wicked, like, really hurt." |

Whilst I can't refute the Guru logic, I'd like to point out a few observations on this game.
Unlike normal games, where everyone is pretending to be a good guy, there are no clear cut badguys in this game. You know who your team mates are and you know that everyone else needs to die. Also, with no hunter types, there's no danger for the soldiers, they can kill anyone they want with no danger of recrimination. This puts Alpha team (With their two soldiers) at a huge advantage. Even if we kill off their intelligence officer, they can continue killing away, safe in the knowledge that nothing bad can come of it. For that reason, I'd suggest that the rest of us need to get to the Alpha Team soldiers as quick as possible. Even a hit on their intelligence officer would be some help so they can't identify the rest of our soldiers and effectively neuter our teams. Sadly, the game is set up so we learn only roles, not team affiliations. This brings us to a quandry. Do we lynch Guru in the hope that he's one of the Alpha team's soldiers or do we leave him be, hoping he's another team's soldier and will manage to kill an Alpha soldier on the next night? Counter-intelligence officers can tell us who's not on Alpha team if they choose to see who they checked but that's a pretty slow way of working them all out and we'll all be dead by then. I seem to be logicing myself round in circles but I'm going to hold off on nominating Guru until some other points of view have been aired, knowing from experience how badly day one impulse lynchings can go (Although like I say, there's not really any bad results as such). |

The logic for Guru seems good enough for me, though it's tempting to keep the nonsensical Griffin bandwagon alive.

Tally Time!
Guru (8): nuttyturnip, a lurker, Crash Landon, Smelnick, Acro-nym, Chaotic, Tritoch, Guru Zergrinch (1): Identity Crisis Identity Crisis (1): Zergrinch Needs to vote (11): Plarom, Diss, Tafer, Shin, Bigblah, The_Melomane, Yeldarb, Dullenplain, Domino, Garr, juanzen Less than six hours to go, and over half the players still need to vote (or change their vote), which means this could still go either way. There is also the Diplomats' votes to factor in, which could also change things. |

well, Shin... though you are indeed making a good point, yes Soldiers are key in this game, but as for general interest anyone that isn't part of Guru's team would care posting that whole theory just to keep him from getting votes? I suspect you either want important info leaning to Alpha team soldiers(wich is good for almost anyone but them) or you are just trying to save Guru... that said, voting for Guru. As for counter intelligence goes, the main team on that got owned on night one, both counter intelligence officers wiped out at the same time, I reckon most teams will protect their soldiers during night time so I say in general it'd be more reasonable to say we should be trying to lynch each other's soldiers during daytime.

There's no resisting this tide it seems. Guru will not see the next night.
