So very close, but no cigar.

Well, what can I say? I should have stuck with my gut feeling and kept my original item instead of trading it for the item I scored when I got the kill on Plarom. I guess my line of thought was "We're pretty close to the end here and it's just a matter of time before my luck runs out. If I take the item Rollins has using my newly acquired item off the still-warm corpse of Plarom, I'll at least make sure I don't go alone when it happens." Turns out that very thought pretty much doomed me to some decapitation by explosion.

While I can't possibly argue with your logic, Rollins, I really hope that it ends up paying off for you. I don't know what nazpyro is reppin', but he seems very confident in his choice of rock.

Griffin, you make a very delicious cake, but that vocal cord constricting shit has got to go.

And that's that, I guess. I look forward to seeing who comes out of this match as the winner. "Now is the feasting of swords."

See you guys next time.

False. We could both lose and there be no winner.

But if there is a winner, he'll be reppin' both Team MD and Team ShoeMart, and that's all that matters.

Filipino pride! Team SM forever.

Additional Spam:
You know, just to add on to my never-ending streak of :mefail:... I was told very, very early on in the game about The_Griffin's item, yet when it finally came into play, I still fell for it. That was one ridiculously delicious cake. The vote was worth it.
And I just read this. What the fuck, naz?

As he stood with his back to nazpyro, Rollins contemplated his decision to have Garr killed. Sure, he got his revenge on him for stealing his item, but was nazpyro an even bigger threat? He certainly made an interesting offer, telling him that he attacked and defended himself the same way for the entire game, but could this had been a bluff? Many options ran through his head, but in the end he decided to go with the one thing in this game that isn't guaranteed: trust.

As Mr. Mod signaled for them to attack, Rollins positioned himself so that he would block nazpyro's impending attack. If he was true to his word, he would successfully block his attack and be able to quickly counter with an attack of his own. As Rollins started to turn around, he saw everything fall into place just as he predicted it would. nazpyro was true to his word, though it was little help to him now.

As Rollins looked over nazpyro's dead body, he wondered why nazpyro would do what he did. Was he tired of all the killing? Was it out of boastfulness? Regardless of the reasons why, what was done was done, and Rollins was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Well, well, congratulations," Mr. Mod said as he came and put his hand on Rollins's shoulder. "I guess this makes you the baddest motherfucker of them all, huh? The smart kids, the cool kids, the outsiders, none of those labels matter anymore as you've managed to outlast them all. Rollins is the new high standard."

Rollins felt a little uneasy hearing Mr. Mod's words, but what did he have to feel guilty about? He was forced to play this terrible game. Forced to kill his fellow classmates. Forced to be the last one standing. It's not like they all weren't trying to do it, so why should he feel guilty about being the one who was the best at it?

No, Rollins smiled as Mr. Mod patted him on the back. He was alive, so why be sad? He was the winner of Werewolf Battle Royale, and he was proud of it.

Rollins defeats nazpyro in the Final Showdown, making him the winner of Werewolf Battle Royale!

Congratulations, Rollins! You were definitely pretty savvy in trying to evade the rules, and that kind of thinking definitely helped you in the long run.

No question this was my favorite Werewolf game out of the ones I've modded so far. Admittedly it was a bitch to keep up with everything behind the scenes, but it was well worth it thanks to the actions of all of you guys, the players. You definitely provided me with enough entertainment to make me not miss playing the game this time around.

Now as far as the game goes, I'll be the first to admit it had, and still has, a lot of things wrong with it. I tried to fix as many things as I could as it went along, but I'm sure there are still some things I could change. I liked this format of the game, and with a few tweaks I think it could be great if it was to be played again someday. So what's your opinion? Tell me everything you liked, hated, or would like to see different in any future iteration of the game.

Other than that, just feel free to discuss any other aspects of the game you want to talk about. Below is a list of items and actions for the game, so you can finally see who the crummy bastard was that took you out. Feel free to declare your grudges now before IC's Werewolf XXIII begins.

Also, :rockgrudge: on nazpyro because I'm gonna kill myself if I see GOOD OL ROCK one more time.

Item List:
Chaotic: Trash Can Lid
This item allows you to give two defenses to one attack, with the better defense being the one that counts.

Crash Landon: Lucky Stiff Brand Medicine
This is a one-time use item that allows you to come back to life after you die. The item will be used automatically once you lose a battle that would normally result in your death.

Darkcomet72: Bogus Ballot Box
This item allows you randomly shuffle the vote tally once voting is over for the day. Only people who have votes cast against them will be included in the shuffle.

Diss: Smoke Machine
This item allows you to divert one attack placed against you to another random player.

Garr: Spy Glasses
This item allows you to check another player's item each night.

Identity Crisis: Bullhorn
This item allows you to summon another player for one of your attacks. This player can either choose to help you carry out your attack (if your attack fails, his attack will go into play), or choose to help the defending player in his defense against your attack (if the defender loses against you, the summoned players will get to play another defense that cancels out the first one).

juanzen: Running Shoes
This item allows you to escape from one battle. Item must be used in place of sending in an defense.

knkwzrd: Hacker's Tools
This item allows you to receive a detailed report of one night's actions. The report includes information on all attacks made and items used for that night.

nazpyro: Flashlight
This item allows you to always see who your attacker is.

nuttyturnip: Fake Blood Vial
This item allows you to to play dead for one consecutive night and day. This means you forfeit your attack and vote for that night and day, but you are also safe from being attacked during that night and safe from being lynched during that day. After the night and day are over, you will return to being a regular player.

Plarom: Thief's Manual
This item allows you to steal one item from any other living player.

Rollins: Hunter's Spear
This item allows you to launch an attack on the person who kills you once you die.

Shin: Mafioso Tommy Gun
This item allows you to launch two attacks on one person at the same time. The better attack of the two will be the one that counts.

StarmanDX: Puppet Strings
This item allows you to control all the actions of another player you choose for one night.

The_Griffin: Poison Vial
This item allows you to make a food dish that will be served to the other players by the mod (me). The dish will be poisoned by the contents of the vial, which is a poison that paralyzes players for one day (preventing them from voting for that day). All players will be offered the dish, and those who accept it will affected by it.

Tritoch: Fighting Staff
This item allows you to win a counterattack on a tie for one battle.

Zergrinch: Werewolf Skin
This item allows you to launch two attacks in one night.

ZiggyGo: Olive Branch
This item allows you to prevent one other player from ever attacking you. Can be used pre-emptively or after an attack is made against you.

I gotta say that it was fun. I suppose, looking back, the smarter thing to do would've been to just avoid attacking the night I used my vial, and let the vote be my weapon. It sure as hell would've worked a lot better.

I'm also pissed that I lost both my allies in one night.

Well, honestly, I had no expectation of coming out on top here. I only played one game of Werewolf before this (and was killed in the first night) and I haven't kept up with all the fancy rules/grudges/strategies/etc. of the previous games. However, this was so accessible for me that's why I signed up.

And really, I think it was tremendous luck on my part, but that would be true for any winner I guess.

One hilarious point though, Zergrinch told me to play scissors in defense to Crash Landon's counterattack on Night 2. Although, by this point, I was suspicious towards Zergrinch, only because he was dictating a lot of moves in my group, which I felt could be leading us to our deaths. So, I did the opposite of what he said and it turns out it saved me from an early death.

C'mon, you know Zerg, always trying to stir up trouble.

I thought the game was great. I wasn't all that crazy about the "rock, paper, scissors" element, simply because I'd feel better picking a number, but I did better than I thought I would. :Griffgrudge: better be settled now.

If you want your numbers so badly, bring back Risk.

Seriously though, wasn't it Zerg or somebody that was able to deduce that the number system was kinda broke or something? Like you could almost always win by choosing 52 or something? I don't remember the specifics, but it was because of that and the fact that the rock/paper/scissors system made it easier to come up with the different battle scenarios that I decided to go with it instead.

He determined that you have a slightly better chance statistically if you pick 51, however, note that he didn't actually win by using that. 1) Everyone can't pick 51 and 2) it comes down to alliances and who you piss off.

Speaking of Risk, I was sort of toying with the idea of running a game the week of 6/23. Most of the bigwigs in my office will be on vacation that week, so it should be slow at work.

True, but first, let me fix this:

-nazpyro attacks ZiggyGo with GOOD OL ROCK, but has his attack diverted to nuttyturnip by StarmanDX. nuttyturnip faked his death, however, negating the attack.
-nazpyro attacks Crash Landon with GOOD OL ROCK. Crash Landon defends with rock and ties.
-Diss attacks nazpyro with scissors. nazpyro successfully defended with GOOD OL ROCK and counterattacks. nazpyro attacks with GOOD OL ROCK and Diss counters with scissors, ending in Diss's death.
-nazpyro attacks Diss with GOOD OL ROCK. Diss defends with rock and ties.
-juanzen attacks nazpyro with rock. nazpyro defends with GOOD OL ROCK and ties.
-nazpyro attacks The_Griffin with GOOD OL ROCK. The_Griffin successfully defends with paper and runs away.
-The_Griffin attacks nazpyro with scissors. nazpyro successfully defends with GOOD OL ROCK and counterattacks. nazpyro attacks with GOOD OL ROCK and The_Griffin counters with scissors, ending in The_Griffin's death.
Epic.

As for the end, I didn't care too much FTW, as I really cared more for the "team pride." It would've been nice to win, but I had pleasure in putting it on Rollins to trust me or not in the end, plus no way could I not use the epic, the godlike, the legendary... GOOD OL ROCK. In fact, I'm not even sure how it lost. Ever.

Well, I assure you I had the best of intentions! I was betting on the fact that Crash would send in the same defense against all attacks. That was why I advocated that we attack him differently. Crash was too smart for that, unfortunately!

I never had any alliance with Crash Landon. I joined only one alliance - with you, nazpyro, and Chaotic. I had nonaggression pacts with Diss, Plarom, juanzen, and The_Griffin. I'm pleased to see all my pacts were fully respected

=============

Also, Griffin, I'm seriously considering a :nuttygrudge: next game. Let's hope ol' Identity Crisis doesn't put him in the same team with me and you

=============

As far as Risk strategy is concerned, nuttyturnip is correct: 52 does not give you superior chances of winning. Merely above-average chances IF your opponent AND the number is random. In fact, if your opponent chooses randomly between a tight 40-60 band, your overall chances don't go above 50-50.
