Werewolf XXII - Werewolf Battle Royale

Originally Posted by Chapter 1: Arrival

So much so that no one noticed until the last second that the bus had taken a turn too sharply, and was nearly halfway into the ocean. As the students' anticipation turned into horror, the bus hit the ocean surface with a thunderous splash. Water quickly flooded into the bus as the students started screaming, looking for any means of escape.

Everyone was so busy trying to save themselves that they didn't even notice the team of divers approaching the bus. These divers quickly entered the bus and started rescuing the students. They were taken to the surface, where a boat was approaching in the distance. The students were so grateful to be rescued that they didn't even wonder how the divers got to them so fast, or how they even knew they were there in the first place.

Once the boat reached them, a rope ladder was thrown off the side. All of the divers quickly climbed up onto the boat, leaving the students behind. As the ladder was retracted back onto the ship, the students looked around puzzled, wondering just what the hell was going on. Suddenly a wire was dropped from the ship and into the water, and with it a burst of electricity spread out all over the surface of the water. All the students were knocked unconscious, and soon the divers went back into the water and retrieved their bodies, taking them to the ship.

Time passed, and some of the students started to awake. They looked around, and saw what looked to be a cafeteria. But upon closer inspection, they noticed some odd things about it, such as the bars around the windows and doors, and the presence of what appeared to be armed soldiers. As more of them started to awake, they looked at each other and saw the strangest thing of all: They had metallic collars around their necks.

Just then, an older, portly man entered the room. He had a huge smile on his face as he looked at all the students sitting at the tables. He walked to the front of the room as the students continued to stare at him, thinking he had all of the answers. Whether he did or not, one student wanted to know something, anything.

"What's going on here?" the student said as he stood up.

"Sit the fuck down!" the man responded in a fierce voice. Once the student obeyed his order, the ferocity quickly vanished and his smile returned. "Please, do not do anything unless I ask you to."

The students did not know what to think about this man. He hardly looked like a scary person, especially with that smile on his face, but he was capable of anything after snapping like he just did.

"Now then, my name is Mr. Mod," the man said as he started to pace around the room. "I assume you all know why you're here. You know...that you've been chosen."

Looks of horror swept over the students' faces, as their worse fears had been realized. They had been chosen to take part in The Program.

"Ah, but don't feel too bad, because you're a lucky bunch. You are the first to try an experimental new version of The Program out. That sounds fun, no? But I'll talk more about that a little later."

Mr. Mod's words were half ignored as the students pondered their own fate. How could they hope to to be the lone survivor of such a deadly game? And the thought that was even worse to some, how could they kill their fellow classmates? How could they kill their friends?

"First, let me tell you where this year's Program is being played. Welcome to Rock 13, an abandoned experimental prison city. Rock 13 is located on an island somewhere in the Arctic Ocean. It was supposed to serve as a sort of 'world prison', where international criminals were supposed to be sent, but the plans fell through and it remains unfinished. That's perfect for us though, as we now have a new battleground for you kids to fight it out.

"Now, as you may or may not know, that standard rules for The Program state that you are to all to kill each other until only one of you remains. Now, for the most part, that will stand true, but we're also adding a new twist to it. In addition to mindlessly killing each other, we also want you to talk. Yes, a sort of test of diplomatic skills. We want a more varied winner this year, someone who not only possesses a killer mind, but also a killer mouth!

"So to kick off this new Program, code named The Werewolf Program after your school, we'll start off with this new segment. We'll give you all until nightfall to decide which one of you should die. Before we start though, we'll hand out the supplies you'll need to survive, but just know that you can't use them until later."

After this, Mr. Mod left the room as the soldiers started handing out duffel bags to the students. No one dared open them in the presence of the soldiers after Mr. Mod's parting words.

This was it. This was real. One of them was about to die.
And with that, it is now time for:

Werewolf XXII - Werewolf Battle Royale

As you should have noticed when you signed up, this game is played a little differently than previous games. For anyone who needs to look at the new rules again, you can find them below.

Rules:
-Each player starts off with one weapon and one item (item will vary). Once per night, each player may choose one other player to attack, with a Rock-Paper-Scissors battle determining if the battle is successful.

-The person who initiates the attack is the attacker, and the person who is attacked is the defender. If the attacker beats the defender, then the defender is killed and is out of the game. If there is a tie, then both players retreat. If the defender beats the attacker, then the defender has the option to either learn the identity of their attacker and then run away, or choose to initiate a counterattack against their attacker.

-In the case of a counterattack, both players take on the role of an attacker. If one person beats the other, then that other player dies. If there is a tie, then both players retreat.

-Order of attacks will play a role in the game, but they will not fully control the flow of battle. All attacks will go through, with order of attacks only being the determinant in the case of multiple attacks on one person.

-Night will take place over a 72 hour (three days) period. The first 24 hour period is the "attack period" when all players must send in their attacks. The next 24 hour period is the "defense period" when no more attacks can be sent and players must send in the defenses. Finally, the last 24 hours is the "follow-up period" when counterattacks must be sent.

-Actions from future periods can take place in any period, but actions from past periods cannot. For example, an attack, a defense, and a counterattack can all take place within the attack period, but an attack or defense cannot take place within the follow-up period.

-Daytime will consist of regular daytime voting, where each player publicly casts a vote against another player. The player with the most votes against them is eliminated from the game. In the case of a tie, players will have to battle each other to determine who lives.

-Daytime will consist of the normal 48 hour voting period.

-Inactivity will be handled with a three strikes system in this game. However, lack of night actions will also count towards inactivity this time around. This only applies to attacks, however, as not turning in a defense will result in an automatic loss.

-This is a free form game of Werewolf, meaning anything goes. Everyone is on their own, and communication is allowed between anyone. Groups and alliances may be formed, but just know that there will only be one winner in the end.

-Even though there will be no more than one winner, there are certain scenarios in which the game can end with no winner at all.

-Items differ from player to player, as each item is unique. Which item each player has or a description of each item will not be publicly revealed by the mod, but players can choose to reveal whatever information as they please about their or any other player's item (it's up to you to decide whether or not you believe them).

-Players are allowed to trade items if they please, but they must inform the mod if they intend to do so. Each player must send a PM saying they would like to give up their item to the other player in exchange for the other player's item. Once both players send the PM, the trade is complete and the players can use the items as directed.

-Players may also switch items with a player they defeated in battle. Once they make a successful kill, they will be sent a description of that player's item and will be asked whether or not they want to switch their item with the dead player's item.

-Trading or switching of items is only allowed if both players involved have not used their item. In other words, you can't just give another player an item after they've used theirs, and you can't just take an item off a dead player's body just because you are already used yours.

I changed my name back to Shin in your opening post, thought it would be quicker than pointing it out to you.

I would wish you all good luck but I'd be lying. Die slow and painful deaths everyone.

Let's think rationally, people. Are we just going to sit back and let these sadistic bastards watch us kill each other? I say we eliminate the blood-thirsty individuals among us, then band together and destroy our captors.

The_Griffin only wants me dead because I slept with his girlfriend. In my defense, she was hot, available, and coated in honey; how could I turn her down? Since Griffin doesn't want the rest of you dead, I say we kill knkwzrd. He's enjoying this way too much.

Well well, it appears that knkwzrd has decided to reveal his bloodlust already. I have the strangest feeling that we've been through this before, and he attempted to pad votes in my direction. Just can't help but think the word :trigrudge: whenever I see his face.

Wow, voting time already?

knkwzrd, while I commend you on your enthusiasm, I'm not at all sure I'd trust you after a comment like that.

"Hey! You're that special ops they sent in behind enemy lines, aren't you? What did they call you... The 'Bionic Commando'. I sure hope your results are better than that name!"

Fuck this nonsense. Changing my vote to nuttyturnip in a probably ultimately meaningless effort to begin a retaliatory bandwagon.

It's not surprising that the class gerbils ended up dead when knkwzrd and Shin took them home for the weekend (yes, we didn't learn our lesson after the first gerbil). Clues to their sinister nature have popped up from time to time, but it's taken an event like this to expose their true colors. Leave them alive at your own peril.

In the interest of avoiding any accidents, I'm voting for the guy who wanted to kill us all, knkwzrd
