I'm totally in. Maybe this time I won't die so friggin' quick and I'll be able to enjoy.

Here's an idea: What if nobody is lynched on Day 1, so everyone will have a decent opportunity to defend against the first mob. We'll all just vote on Day 1 to cast suspicion, and then we could even lynch two people on Day 2 using Day 1 votes as reasoning. Yes/No?
OR: We could have the baddies merely attack people on Night 1, without killing, and then we all vote to suspect someone on Day 1. Back to normal on Night/Day 2. It just seems like Day 1's are stupid and unfair to the first lynchee.

I agree with Darkcomet72. Like any kind of game that involves eliminating players, someone has to be the first to die, and it wouldn't be any fun just to banter back and forth the first day with no result.

I understand what Jochie is getting at. But it seems that a town can't really have lynchings without a reason. A Wolf/Mafia attack is just that impetus. Likewise, a Vigilante has no reason to strike until someone else has been killed.
However, as was done in last game, I like the idea of Seers being allowed to use their ability the first night. Additionally, I will allow the Shaman to also use his/her power the first night. There's a small chance it will prevent Evil from succeeding, but the botched attack will still reveal the presence of evil. As for why the Shaman would do this the first night, let's just say his mystic powers allow him to sense Evil before others. |

Crash, you mentioned how much you liked the mysterious stranger from the last game, and I was also surprised at how well it worked. Have you considered adding that in from the beginning (having one or two individuals whose roles aren't identified in the list)?

This is just how we prevent absentees from slowing the game down too much. Nothing personal. |
|
I stayed outta the last game 'cause I've been pretty busy lately and didn't want to be an annoying inactive player, but I think I can handle it this time.

Then this makes 24 participants so far.
I think we've got room for Villagers now, which is actually a good thing. Also, does anyone have any objections to the "mystery role" that made the last game interesting? |
|
I liked the mystery role, even though by the end it was mathematically obvious that Chaotic had to be a good guy. It was a great way to introduce people, and I think it could be nifty to start the game with one or two as well.

I think the mystery role is a great way to introduce latecomers, but I kind of dislike how mysterious it is. Personally, I'll pretty much always want to target the mystery villager/s first, by default. This whole game is a process of eliminating unknowns, and a mystery villager is always going to be at the top of that list for me. Unless that villager is me, of course. Then it's the greatest idea ever!

Having not paid close attention to previous werewolf sessions, do members who get killed off no longer get to post in the thread? Or can they comment, but not be involved?
|
|
That really depends on who's running the game, Dullenplain. I don't mind a little conversation between the deceased, but it can't be disruptive to the game. And it certainly can't be the type that reveals secrets or encourages others to act in particular ways.
If zombie comments get out of hand, I'll announce that they're no longer permitted, then I'll delete anything that violates the order. Fair enough? Additionally, there's now 24 people signed up, which is enough to go ahead. I've been doing the numbers and ChocoDeciding roles tonight. I've made some provisions for any late joiners as well. Expect your roles to be handed out tomorrow evening once I'm home from work. The game will begin then and I'll make the opening thread at the same time.

Sounds good to me. I was thinking of the possibility given the fact that some may only get to see a few days of gameplay before being deceased. I'm not sure if that makes it a very fun experience (there's always a next time I suppose).
