I'm surprised at how my oblique hunch turned out to be correct. I need to think up more strange connections, preferably with at least three degrees of seperation.

The townsfolk were quite jarred by the unexpected death of el jacko, and even more so by his revealed involvement with the Mafia. They knew that, like ants, where there is one mobster, there are many.

An impromptu meeting had been called between several concerned citizens. They were fearful of their lives and fearful that the mayor had gone insane with power. They planned to meet at the foot bridge over the cobblestone highway.

As figures emerged from the shadows, one removed his hat and scarf. It was RockgamerXIII, and he was carrying with him a small satchel. He glanced about anxiously, then spoke toward the silhouettes in the darkness.

"I've brought you the money. So tomorrow, if there's a lynching, I'm not fingered, right?"
"Yeah, you gots our word on dat. You don't blame us. We don't blame you. I tink it works out nicely for all of us, don't choo?"
"Indeed it does. The rumors about you are all wrong. You're not untrustworthy folk at all.", RockgamerXIII said.
"Oh? Who's saying that?"
"Lots of people."
"Oh, well we intend to stick to our word. You ain't gonna be lynched tomorrow. We'll see to that cuz you's gonna get whacked tonight instead."

One of the thugs stepped forward, sank a deep suckerpunch into RockgamerXIII's abdomen, then shoved him over the edge of the bridge, tumbling down to the hard cobblestones far below. They listened intently for the satisfying noise of bone meeting earth.

But it never came. After several awkward moments, the shadowy figures glanced over the edge and saw RockgamerXIII lying on his back, smiling and moving away from them. He'd landed on a passing donkeycart loaded with pillows, marshmallows and Nerf footballs. RockgamerXIII waved at his assailants, wiped his brow and laughed, for he knew he'd cheated death that night.

"Well, dat was pretty fuckin' contrived.", one of the Mafia Members muttered.

In another section of town, Lukage was strolling casually along, enjoying some time alone to think. Several people were suspicious of him earlier that day. He'd done nothing to make them so, but he knew that wouldn't matter the next time there was a lynching and he needed to clear his mind of its worries.

Coming upon a shallow section of the river, Lukage stared at the waters for a moment, then broke a branch off a nearby tree. He unlaced his right shoe, dug around for some worms and fashioned himself a crude fishing rod. He figured a little moonlight sport would calm his nerves.

Twenty-five minutes or so passed without so much as a nibble. Lukage was about to drowse off when he felt a sudden tug on the line. Frantically, Lukage yanked the branch and approached the waters to capture his prey.
As he drew closer, a masked man stood up from beneath the water's surface, clutching the rod's line. Lukage knew he'd been targeted and tried to run. But his right shoe, no longer being laced, got stuck in the mud and sand, causing Lukage to fall backward.

The attacker flashed a cruel smile, produced a thin dagger and plunged it into Lukage's chest. Quickly, he then turned around, dove back underwater and made his escape.

Ten minutes later, Lukage came to. He'd fainted from the shock. He saw the dagger sticking out of his chest. He plucked the dagger out, reached into the inside of his jacket, and produced a wrapped sandwich. There was a three-inch incision in the sandwich, but the blade had failed to penetrate Lukage's skin.

"I knew getting the pastrami on the hard roll was the right choice.", Lukage spoke aloud. He then ate the sandwich. It was pretty good, but it could've used a little more mayonnaise.

Spoiler:
Shaman protects Lukage
Vigilante tries to kill Lukage but is thwarted

Having been denied their quarry the previous night, the Werewolves were determined to feast upon innocent flesh tonight. They'd checked around, paid off a few informants, but had been unable to find a conclusive target. Rather than give up completely, they opted to wander about and consume the first hapless moron that got in their way.

The first person they saw was drunk and trying to squeeze himself through the front door of his house. "No, he's too fatty", the Wolves thought.

The second person they saw was a woman picking the slugs off her tomato plants by moonlight. She was old, weathered and quite thin. "No, she's too stringy", the Wolves said.

The third person was a smallish woman with long hair. She was dancing to music with the windows open and didn't appear to be too concerned with much of anything really. "This one is juuuuuuuuust right.", the Wolves agreed.

So, to make a long story short, Visavi got royally fucked up, eaten and shit out the next day. One of the Wolves made a handpuppet out of her skull. They named it "Rodney" and it was the source of much hilarity in the den for weeks.

Spoiler:
Werewolves kill Shaman Visavi

A very interesting night. We've now seen what sort of power the Shamans truly possess. Maybe they're just lucky, but even luck saves the day now and again. As a result, there was only one death tonight and if people are observant about how they vote, tomorrow's lynching should involve much less randomness.

With that, we now move on to: DAY TWO

I must admit that, as the checks and targets came in, I laughed quite audibly several times. Playing the game is great, but managing this stuff behind the scenes has its own rewards, it seems.

So a shaman protects someone from a vigilante by giving them a subconsious desire to purchase a certain kind of sandwich? What an awesome power!

I'm rather surprised that the Shaman can block the Vigilante, since I didn't notice that in the opening post before, but overall a very lucky night for Good. Well, aside from poor Visavi, but at least she'll always live on in spirit... and um, Rodney.

So, to review what we now know, RockgamerXIII isn't Mafia and Lukage isn't the Vigilante. This doesn't clear either of them of course, but it's helpful info. The only people I'm really suspicious of at the moment are all those who said they used ChocoDecide last round and yet bandwagons still seemed to form at "random." I don't really buy it.

Amazing..

It's a shame that the shaman's life was cut short so early. She did an excellent job with her protections and perhaps her efforts as a martyr will help keep this town in order. Last night there were a number of extremely close calls, but if we all stay sharp I believe we can cut through the jive.

I'll start things off by vote for Brent once again. It's clear that anyone who voted for elwe during the tiebreaker doesn't have this town's best intentions in mind.

Yes, I agree. It's far too easy to hide under the guise of posing a 'random vote,' but what surprises me is the amount of people who actually fall for this kind of ruse.

Yeah, the Shaman is composite, with one half being that of the Archangel. The Archangel protects from all human attackers, and the Vigilante is certainly human.

I find it an interesting twist that the Shaman's blessing can work against more than just Wolves and Mafia, so I decided to allow it from the start. I didn't think it'd actually come into play though. That surprised me a bit.

Yeah, and guess whose trick that was! I felt bad for blaming Lukage during the first day, so I decided to save him (which I feel was probably a mistake after the results of tonight and Lukage's earlier rants of vengeance...hmmm). Also, why is it of all the people that have to die, it had to be the Indian? Especially since the wolves are suppose to be sacred to our beliefs? That does it, I shall send a message to the rest of my clan during their next vision quests to worship the feline since the canines (the jackel and wolves) tend to betray our kind. Isn't it ironic that I'm killed by the very group that I was part of last time? AVENGE ME MY LIGERS!!!

Spoiler:

Yes, I am done ranting. May the Ligers lead good to victory!

What makes Brent the most suspicious of those who voted for elwe, though? I mean, damn -- I voted for elwe, using Chocodecide which is another thing.

I have a hard time just bullshitting up a reason to vote for someone on DAY ONE. There is no reason to vote for anyone on DAY ONE, other than that we are still alive. I don't disagree, though, that evildoers would exploit this for cover.

BUT ANYWAY. I'm voting for Darkcomet72 for being the first person to vote elwe.

What Jochie said brings up an interesting point. Plarom must know something else about Brent that made him choose him out of all the others that voted for Elwe. Reasoning that he was the deciding factor seems to be an excuse to get what he wants through.

I'm going to withhold my vote, for a bit, but I just thought I'd point that out.

Okay, am I the only one not seeing this? If the Vigilante found Lukage suspicious enough to be willing to spend a kill on him, then I believe that he was seriously on to something. I mean, his behavior yesterday was a little...erratic, especially since he's acting out of vengeance for something that happened ages ago.

I just find it really hard to trust him, and a lot of people yesterday didn't seem to be able to either (so they instead chose to ignore the issue). I say we take a stand though, and just rid the village of him altogether. Good or bad, he's a danger to both sides, so I say we all just band together and lynch Lukage!

Or, it means that anyone who voted for Elwe during the tiebreaker round, you know, had no idea what Elwe's or El Jacko's role was. Like, you know, basically everyone. Retaliatory vote for Plarom.

I'm fairly certain that Plarom is either the Spy, or one of the seers, now. Which one would determine whether Brent was evil or not. I'm just going to go with this hunch, and vote for Plarom, who will hopefully end up being the Spy.

Well obviously el jacko's fellow Mafia members knew, which is at least three other people. But like Jochie said, Plarom doesn't really have a reason for singling you out instead of someone like Darkcomet, who first voted for elwe.
